Xcelerator-amazing!

I took a road trip to sfmm and knotts and got back this evening. I went to knotts on sunday the 21st and road it. This ride was incredible, 10/10, the launch was breathtaking by way of the launch cable. The top hat was the best part of any coaster i have been on. Airtime heaven!,the vertical climb and descent was great. The only downside to this ride was the short 27sec. of ride time. With the exception of X(which i have not been on yet) its the best coaster I have been on, and the best in california!

I am suprised there isnt much buzz about this ride. All of us should look forward to some clones of excelerator!

I thought Xcelerator was great, but not better than GhostRider great.

And yes, that hydraulic baby is INTENSE.

excelerator makes superman at sfmm seem weak!, i rode it the day after i went to knotts

0-100 in 7 seconds is Xtremely weak compared to 0-82 in 2.3 seconds. Xcelerator's launch is 2.5X faster. The top hat is the best element. Some rides feel like -3 gs.

The launch on Xcelerator is really intense, but it is also very smooth. Going over the top hat and then straight down is a crazy rush of adrenaline, but I agree that the ride is too short. The overbanked turns are cool, but that's it. If there was twice as much track I would say it could compete with X. As cool as Xcelerator's launch is, nothing can compare to the first drop on X. Nothing!

What a Combo!

Not to be mean or anything, but I think you guys need to try to understand that Knott's didn't have a lot of land to build it on. So they weren't able to include other elements into the ride. IMO, I think they used the land they had wisely.

I think they could have fit more track into the same footprint easily. Look at what Premier does with their spaghetti coasters like Flight of Fear.

i have not been on x or xcellerator . what ride do the gp/ enthusiasts think is better.

What surrounds Xcelerator? Knotts was creative with space with Jaguar is there no place they could possibly put out some out and back feature or something? How bad is the stacking?

I'm not complaining I have not ridden the ride but 12 million dollars (is that right?) for a 27 second ride yikes!

I have been on X and I plan on riding Xcelerator this week. I loved X, don't get me wrong, although I didn't find it to be the most thrilling ride ever. The entire thing was amazing, although not scarry to me. I'm hoping that the first element of Xcelerator really gives me a thrilling, scary, sensation. Not many coasters do that for me anymore, but they still continue to amaze and facinate me, I love them.

Wow, if only one of those types of rides were to be built here in the Midwest...and what if it was like twice as tall, and much faster, and...;);)

Xcelerator's going to put X to shame once they trim the entire first drop.

Hey Speedy, pass that, because you're smoking something really good! There is no way in hell that Xcelerator could put X to shame. And what are you saying? That X's entire first drop is gonna have trim brakes? I don't know where you got that info. Don't get me wrong, Xcelerator is a top-notch coaster. I only have X and Goliath ranked above it, but there is really nothing after the launch and top hat. They could have been more creative and fit more track in there, but I don't know if they were trying to keep costs down.

At least for this edition, Xcelerator wasn't meant to be some 5000 foot out and back.

It needs to be compared to Hypersonic XLC and Dodonpa more than anything else.

Xcelerator is simply Intamin's answer to the TA2K. Hypersonic was a prototype and look how short it is, the second installation Dodopana is quite a bit larger with a more varied layout. The same thing will go with Xcelerator if another is ever made.

xcelerator looks amazing. period. i want to ride it more then any coaster out there. it looks sick. i would not be complaining i'd be jumping for joy if this ride came to my home park canadas wonderland. one more word to describe xcelerator
