Actually, its the other way around. B&M split off from Intamin, and they were already designing 4-across rides while still part of Intamin (i.e. Z-Force, Batman the Escape (formerly Shockwave at SFMM) and Cobra).

It doesn't matter if Mr. Bolliger and Mr. Mabillard did come up with the idea of box-spined track (which of course there is no proof of - it could of been Giovanola or anyone working at Intamin for that matter). What does matter is that Intamin used it first – for example on Shockwave at SFMM in 1987 before B&M (the company) existed.
