Anyone know how far MF is from the Main Gate?

I was just wondering after I was reading another topic.

I bet it's at least a 1/4 mile or a little farther.

Here's another question. How long is CP from the Main Gate back to Mean Streak? 3/4 mile?

I'm sure someone has to know the answers.

well, I do know that from the main gate, around the major loop, and back to the front gate is 2 miles. That's a long way to walk in a day, and that's done more than once, at least for me! You can probably estimate from that figure, though.

the force is Probably about a half a mile from the Main gate. Most likely less then that. Definitely not more.

I don't know if I agree with the two mile deal but i guess it could be right. I was always thinking about a mile and a half or less.

Sky Ride is a about 1/4 miles long, so a little less than a half mile sounds about right.

Looks to me like about 1/2 mile. See what you think based upon the scale photo:

From measuring off of Sandy's link, it appears to be 900 yards from the front gate, which is just over a half a mile (approximately).

I walk 2 miles a day, and that takes about 40 minutes. So it's easy to judge distance by the time it takes to walk it, at a normal walking pace, that is. So if it takes 10 minutes to walk to the Force, it would be about a half mile. Of course if it's the "running of the bulls," I guess my way won't work. I do tend to walk faster when a roller coaster is at the end of the walk.

I thought the marina gate was common knowledge. About a 2 minute run to MF. The marina entrance is almost half way between the front gate and Mean Streak. It's a good head start for Running of the Bulls.

Sandy.

Shhhhhh... the Marina gate is a secret.

Okay, maybe not, but still. Can you imagine everyone crowding through that gate just to be closer?

Hey sandy can you tell me where that is. My uncle and I are planning a trip to CP this year or next year.

I saw the marina gate when we were there. I was near the front of the pack in the running then I saw a bunch of people some running in from the left. I believe it's near the Cedar Point Cinema.

Can anyone use that gate?

Coasterpunk, I believe so, at least that's the way it always appears.

It's about 493 steps to Maggie, if you have long legs and don't park in back by Gemini! I don't recall ever going to MF first, for reasons I just mentioned. And possibly another 210 steps to Mean Squeak, though I usually turn left first......

If you're staying at any of the on-site resorts, you can take a shuttle to the Marina entrance in the morning. I'm not sure how to get there from the general parking lot by foot.

Park in the main parking lot, then walk the service road to the left of the main entrance. That's the road that leads to the campground. Marina entrance will be on your right. It's a good idea to be at that gate at least 20 minutes before opening. Figure on about a 5 minute walk from main parking lot to the marina entrance.

Can you use the Marina Enterance even if your using another CF park season pass? I don't want to walk there then have to go back to the main enterance.

They've taken my Dorney Park pass the last two years. Unless the policy has changed, I can only assume it's still OK. I guess I'll find out in 2 weeks.

And sorry to let out the "big secret" :)

Maybe the secret will be to just go to the main gate! ;)

Good point. 1st week of Aug last year, about 80 people waiting at the marina entrance, hence my suggestion to get there early. The main entrance was for more crowded though.

My point is that at least given the same crowds, you are at least 1/2 through the park. I managed to get 4 MF rides within an hour every time. Once the line got long, I picked up one of those "come back later, you loser" tickets for another ride in the afternoon.

Remember that 99.999% of the public is NOT a coaster enthusiast and that is why we trade these tips.
