Intamin track types

Why do Intamin coasters use the different kinds of track? (rectangular, triangular, flat) Is it for the amount of stress it takes?

It looks good and triangle and Rectangle hold more stress, flat track is mostly on smaller Intamins.

Intamin uses the differnt types of tracks for two reasons. The first one is that there is a high amount of stress put on the track. The other is that 4 rail track needs less supports than two rail track. Basicaly, if the track is high in the air, it would be cheaper to use 4 rail track and use less supports, while when the track is close to the ground, it is cheaper to place a support every 20 ft than make the 4 rail track.

Some of there coasters switch from triangular to box. Like MF and SROS@SFNE
