Mill Force, Is it like other Intamins?

Almost all Intamins have had some infamous memories. Perlious Plunge opening in Augest then closing. S:TE going 5 ft in test runs then only 94 M.P.H. I know MF rolled back but does it break down freqwently?

Hmmmm...I wonder if I should just stay out of this thread completely... ;)

Um, yes, MF is like the others...it kicks butt!

I don't remember MF ever rolling back,does anybody else? But it is pretty reliable, and yes it does kick butt.

Yes, MF has rolled back. I know of once on a windy day, with an empty train.
The ride was back up and running by 6:00 that night.

Didn't RideMan say that Vekoma did the LIM system for S:TE? If so, that's not really Intamin's fault.

The Force rolled back only once.

The first half of the season, the ride was plagued with anti-rollbacks that wouldn't disengage. As some of you probably know, there are two wheels that drag along the lift sled's track, generating an electric current that pulls the anti-rollbacks off of the track. When the wheels stop turning, they fall into place and prevent the train from going back the other way. For some reason, they were dragging anyway.

The other problem was excessive wheel wear. That appeared to be fixed by replacing some wheels (not in any pattern that I could detect) with concave wheels. I assume they distribute the load more evenly across the surface of the wheel, causing more even wear. Since they're nylon, they also appear to be faster.

By July, they seemed to have these issues worked out.

For the most part, Intamins are no more or less reliable than any other type of coasters, they have just had several well publicized breakdowns. Once the third chain was put on Superman at SFA, the ride operated for the rest of the year without one breakdown that I ever observed, and I was there alot. And, yess, it does kick but.

3 chains in a season? Wow! That's reliable!

How about Volcano, the ride that opened in August, at half capacity? That rollback pretty often, that launches with the brakes closed, that can go down for days, etc.

Also, Intamin trains are not as good as their hypers..... Ride Indiana Jones at DLP and you'll see why......

Have I ever mentioned that I was on one of those chain breaks at SFA?
