Arrow and its smoother loopers.

O.K. compared to B&M and Intamin, Arrow doesnt hold a candle in the smooth department, but what Arrow looper has kept you coming back for more? I find the Demon at SFGAm to be a pretty smooth ride considering what Arrow has created. Also the themeing on the ride helps to. Its no surprise that Demon gets longer lines then Shockwave on a consistent basis. What other Arrow looper gets long lines because it stood test of time? Demon was recreated in 1980 and to this day still gets long lines due to its relative comfort for a looper. Let me know what other Arrow loopers still have long lines.

I'e ridde Steel Phantom, GASM, and Anaconda. I think that the one the least headbanging was the Anaconda. I think that's because it only goes up to 50 MPH.

Every time I went to GA this year Shockwave had a longer line than Demon. It seems to me that Demon always has a 5 minute line or less. I love that ride and I get to ride it 5 times every time I got to GA because it has such a short line. I do agree that Demon is very comfortable.

The Carolina Cyclone at Paramount's Carowinds has always had a long line. Always. It didn't matter if I went in the middle of a snow storm, I was gonna wait at least 30 minutes. The ride has always been extemely smooth except for the corkscrews which tend to grind a little towards the end of them. I don't know the year it was built, but I know that it was there a long time before Paramount bought it and they've had control of the park for 6 or 7 years now I think. (Correct me if I'm wrong!)

Carolina Cyclone was built in 1980. It was a few years before Paramount bought the park. It was the fifth coaster in the park (Thunder Road, Scooby Doo, White Lightnin', Gold Rusher).

As for a long line to ride Arrow Loopers. How about adding the Tennesse Tornado to that list. It is pretty smooth and it sometimes has a long line. But try to hit it in the early morning and around lunch time.

I had the chance to complete my 500th ride on it this past summer. It was better than my first ride on it.

Double Loop at SFO is very smooth, as is Corkscrew at CP.

The old Geauga Lake Corkscrew was very smooth as well.

The BGT Python is very smooth

Tornado, you hit it right on. The Tennessee Tornado is probably the most overlooked coaster out there. Whatever Arrow changed on it compared to older loopers, they got right. It's definitely up there with B&M as far as smoothness. However, the lines haven't skipped over this coaster. You still have to wait a good 45+ minutes for a ride during the peak hours. Another coaster that keeps its lines long is Loch Ness Monster. The lines for that thing have probably grown over the years. The wait was easily longer than Alpengeist's.

I'll agree with Double Loop - it's not bad. However, Corkscrew is the roughest ride I've ever been on!

Yes, the CP Cprkscrew is pretty rough.

For smooth, PGA's Demon is easily the smoothest Arrow I have encountered. Also the MOST speed through the corkscrew element of any Arrow.

I did not feel any pain on Viper at SFMM but, I never feel pain on rides. Demon at PGA also is very fun and smooth!

Believe it or not the Steel Phantom was relatively smooth for an Arrow of its vintage. If it had been as rough as some of the Arrows I have ridden they would have been carrying people away on stretchers.

Yes, Phantom was relatively re-ridable. Vortex at Kings Island has always been my favorite, and I always see a good line for it. The other great thing about Arrow is the multiple train operation that always takes place. Rarely do I see Demon, Corkscrew, and Shockwave take a train off. The older corkscrew models are fairly smooth, as well as good old Double Loop. I DO think more padding is needed on some of these.

Soggy....it looks like the Demon at Calif. still has all the theming. I have never been there. Can anyone tell me if the "cage & eyes" at the entrance is still there?? How about all the lights and fog?? The one in Ill. had its cage and various effects removed several years ago. Boy do I miss the music, red water and fire on the station and cars! Demon is a particular favorite....heck it was so impressive to me 20 years ago that I am doing a working model of it (see my site).


I have yet to experience the Tennessee Tornado, and have heard nothing but heavenly remarks about it!!

I think old Nessie at BGW has held up the test of time great. Although it only has the two loops it's still one you can ride over and over.
This past summer we did do a GASM maraton at Great Adventure. A super rainy Wednsday around 8 pm we basically sat in an empty train in the back seat for at least 40 minutes or so.
I never minded the Steel Phantom either (just taking out all my earings).

Anaconda at PKD had a pretty long line when i went on it (twice), is Tenesee Tornado good?? I'm going to that state next year, and plan to stop over at Dollywood.

Chitown, i noticed this too. Whenever i go to SFGAm the Demon has longer lines than the Shockwave. Demon is still an enjoyable coaster, it is fairly smooth, nice tunnel.

Viper at SFMM thats the best arrow looping coaster that i have been on, not rough at all, the boomerang is great, i like it when you hang for a brief moment.

Tennessee Tornado is the smothest Arrow looper I've been on. Although it isn't as smooth as a B&M it is a very good ride. Also I rode Corkscrew at CP the final Saturday it was open and it was very smooth. The Demon at PGA is smooth too.
