Does anybody know?

Just wondering if anybody knows if it is true that if you buy a season pass to one of Cedar Fair's parks you get free admission to their other parks? I heard that while visiting Cedar Point this summer and was just curious if it was true.

I plan on visiting there again next summer and I am purchasing for the first time ever a season pass to Valleyfair!.

I had a Dorney pass this past summer and I got into Cedar Point no problem. Just need to pay the parking and go to the right gate.

Not only that, but if you want a sweet deal, while at Cedar Point, make a little road trip to Six Flags ohio in Cleveland. Plunk down I believe $42-$50 and ask for a season pass, you will get free admission to the vast majority of the parks Six Flags, Inc owns. Paramount runs a similar promotion.

From what I have been able to learn:
Cedar Fair, Paramount, and Six Flags Inc paticipate in reciprocal season passes. (A season pass for any park in the chain acts like a pass for all of them) (There are a few exceptions, like Wyandot Lake, Frontier City, Great Escape, Knott's Camp Snoopy, and the Paramount Star Trek Experience do not honor their respective chains passes.)

For the record I think that Busch, Di$ney, and Universal passes are NOT reciprocal.

Actually at Great Escape we showed our SFKK pass and got in for half price. With our SFKK we got a coupon book that had a coupon to get into Wyandot for free I'm not sure if you could get a discount with the pass there or not. You just need to speak up at the gate instead of just forking over the money.

Yea I know whats someone from eastern Pennsylvania doing with a SFKK pass? cheaper than a SFGAdv pass and we weren't to SFA yet.

I hope SFO changes their passes this year. They were pieces of crap. We had to go to guest services at SFStL and get little ticket things to show the main gate people because our passes didn't register. SFO doesn't have the little scan pass system like other SF parks. They just look at the VERY grainy pic on the card and say OK.

SFO passes are cheaper than SF great adv., as SFA passes are too, but the catch is that you have to get them processed at that park. You cannot buy the cheaper pass, then process at another park.

I have heard stories of peolpe buying passes for Great Adventure, but actually renewing at America. Then just making a off season road trip to DC to renew. It is a big savings for a family, if you have to come over that way.

Just a way of promoting sales at 'newer' parks without alot of pass holders. I guess they figure that if you drive there in the first place to another SF, you will drop a ton of money for food and games. I do know that SFA will let you park for free with a SFGreat Adv. sticker. And they were selling a $69 Hurrican Harbor pass at Great Adventure this fall. That is a bargain.

And Great Escape fans do not fret, that is the next park to be given the SF moniker.

The use of Six Flags passes last year was a joke. At SFO (where I bought mine), they were never scanned. At SFA, the ticket person looked at them and let us in. At SFGAm, they scanned them, got the big red light, shrugged, and let us through. That's gate integrity right there. How long before the forgeries surface?

When i used my SFA pass at SFA they never even gave it much more than a cursory glance. Same thing happened when I went to SFO. When I used it at SFGAM they scanned it, got the red light and wrote down the number off my pass. However, at SFKK they made me go to guest relations and get a paper ticket. I was a little upset because I was just over at GR and they told me I didnt need a paper ticket ...grrrr

At Paramount's Carowinds they just about get out a microscope to check, or they did me. I handed it to the lady and she looked at it, then back at me, then back at the pass, then back at me. After all the waiting she finally figured out that I was the person in the photo and let me in.

Well I have had mixed experiences park hopping on season passes, but most times it seems to be made very user friendly.

At SFDL the ticket taker scanner our passses, (SFKK), and got the red light several times before shrugging and hitting some override button to let us in.

SFGadv had a GR representative by the season pass gate, who entered our pass information into a palm pilot like device, then signaled the ticket taker to let us in.

SFO barely even looked at the pass!, Just waved us on in. Didn't even try the scanner.

From what I hear SFKK is anal and requires you to check in with Guest Relations.

Dorney Park required Eric to check in at GR with his Cedar Point pass.

I viisted PKD and PCWo while being employed by Paramount Parks, and a visit to GR was required. PKD issued my a 1 day ticket.

PCWo was very hospitable and the GR manager escorted us into the park, and gave us our ride-stamps. PCWo got kudos for honoring our Paramoount Parks employee parking pass, and refunding our parking fee.

This is true, as I went to SixFlagsStLouis this year and they made me go to Guest Relations to get a ticket to go into the park instead of just scanning and/or looking at my pass. Im beginning to wonder what IS the purpose of the barcode on the back of the season passes, because it seems they rarely use it?

Yes, thats very true, Simcoaster. When you *CAN'T* get in...Theres a problem!

sfog had no problem with my season pass from sfstl this past year it scanned and they let us in. Maybe all the parks are just not up to speed yet.

I remember that someone said that a six flags pass will be good at all six flags properties next year. At least this was evident by someones voucher saying there pass will be good at Great Escape.

I think you can get a busch season pass as well.
