That reminds me of a cool thing I saw on Dueling Dragons. We were in the station when they were adding trains. The transfer track is in front of the station. Normally, that would mean that the train would have to be pulled onto the main track and then run through the circuit to return to the station in preparation for guests.
On DD, they have the ability to "back up" the trains into the station and load guests immediately. I haven't seen another coaster do that.

I'm surprised they wouldn't want to run the trains through the circuit once before loading them. When I worked at SFOT, attendants had to do a check ride on the added train before loading.
On the Vekoma SLCs, they combine the rotary switches with the ability to push the train backward out of the station. To take a train off, they rotate the switch, then shoot the train backward from the station to the storage track, then flip the switch back over again to allow the other train to proceed from Trimstation to Station.
