dive loops on inverted coasters?

i personally cant think of any inverted coasters that feature a dive loop (and no, half of a batwing doesnt count). anyone know any reason why this is? just imagine the view from the front on a dive loop, it would rule!

Isn't a dive loop just B&M's name for a half batwing? At any rate, Talon has whatever-it's-called.

no, talon has an immelmann, a dive loop is similar but is performed the other way. so, you enter the half corkscrew first and then go down the dive loop towards the ground.

Until recently, only sit-downs had dive loops and only inverts had immelmans. That trend was broken by Superman : Attracion del Acero, it is a floorless with an immelman. I don't know why no inverts have dive loops, but you're right, it would be cool.

A dive loop is the same thing as a bat wing, because batwings enter the corkscrew then a half loop then another half loop then a corkscrew.

SFGA2001, there have been Sidewinders / Immelmans on above-track coasters longer than inverteds. The first was on PKD's Anaconda in 1991.

And, counting a Boomerang / Batwing as an inversion of its own, no inverted coaster currently features a Dive Loop.

Let it be known that there are variations to the inversions, so there is some confustion - A true Immelman reverses 180 degrees, a Sidewinder 90, and a B&M-type Dive Loop reverses 180.

Actually Ninja at SFStL would have the first immelman since it was built in 1986.

Would you really call that element on Ninja an Immelman? It seems more like a half cobra roll which I just don't consider an Immelman. If it is one, then I guess I just have this B&M Immelman image in my head. And Ninja's doesn't fit my Immelman image. Back to the original post though, that would be an awesome sensation with the view.

I always explained an immelman as a half loop followed by a half twist, not a corkscrew. A half loop followed by a half corkscrew is a sidewinder as someone mentioned.

a dive loop is exited at 45* to its entry but half a batwing or whatever exits at 90*...........

same with immelmans
