Did You Ever Try A Frog Hopper?

I was wondering how many people are as nuts as me and tried one? I did it last year at Knoebels I just thought it looked fun. I borrowed two of my friends kids and got in line with them.

I actually thought it was a fun ride. I felt silly on it considering I'm 26 years old surrounded by 5 year olds. Then the following week I had my girlfriend go on it with me.

I've tried one at Buffalo Bill's Casino in Primm, NV. There are only 2 seats that Adults can fit on, but they're large enough to seat a medium sized man. The ride's fun, for a kid's ride. It bunces quite a few times and provides a bit of thrill, even more than some family coasters.

VF's Frog Hopper has a single adult seat in the middle of the ride. I rode almost weekly with CBaby and Da Midget for the last two summers. I've got photos somewhere.

Dorney's Froghopper (Woodstock's Airmail) has an adult seat in the middle. Both me and my wife have been on it. I didn't feel too silly as I've seen many, many adults ride with their kids.

Froghoppers are actually a good deal of fun.

Some have the adult seats in the middle. Others have them on the outside.

I've been on several hoppers in different places since my kids love them and for a long time insisted that I ride with them. Yes they are quite a bit of fun- especially for a kiddie ride.

I've been on many of a Frog Hopper's :) My favorite style of a Frog Hopper's is the actual adult model (designed all for adults.) For those who don't know they have one, that looks like a mini S&S. It works exactly the same way as a kiddie frog hopper. It seats 8 all around the center pole and is about 4 or 5 stories tall. They have one (or maybe a couple) touring all around NE Ohio at the carnivals and there is one always at the IX Indoor Amusment Park. The main model up here is called the High Jacker. A lot of fun! It feels like being a little baby being tossed up and down over and over (and they wonder why babies throw up all the time.) :)

Wait a minute--I didn't discuss the 'silly' part. I usually enjoy a good round of idiot screaming (which I'll discuss more in CPlaya 100 Park 5 review) while on board.

When visiting VF with Playette, she yelled at me for getting on with the kids. When I ignored her and climbed on anyway, she literally took off running in the opposite direction and refused to be seen with me for 15 minutes. I had to get a stranger to snap a photo of the kids and me.

Can you say uptight?

Of course I have ridden one! You know, that is our only S&S attraction at MIA, let alone our only "drop tower!"

It's too bad that some of the ops are completely dense and won't let teenagers/adults on, but you just have to catch it at the right time. Apparently there is a rule now that we can ride, but only two at a time.

Uhhhhh.....Playette's my wife.

CoastaBaby is actually 9 years old, but I started calling her CBaby years ago and I'm not about to quit. Da 'Midget was originally CoastaToddla, but she got way too old for that. Frankly, that pic is old, too. She's 5 now and 46" in her bare feet.

T-shirts and action figures will be available soon. Collect 'em all!

Yeah about the one at the IX center.....I hate that place cause I love coasters and it's mostly just puke rides, and one wild mause coaster. Oh well, on to the story....

Well me and my friend went there 2 years ago and the line for the frog hopper was pretty long, it was called like Rainbow Falls at the time I think. Anyway, there was a bunch of kids and stuff in the line and what was hillarious was the ride op. He had a voice exactly like DMX like all scratchy and stuff. He kept tellin everyone "Single File Line Brotha!!" and it looked like he was pretty pissed too, lol. All the kids were so scared of him and they got all close to their parents and stuff. Then as he got more pissed it got even funnier, cause he pulled out a cigarrette and started smoking it while operating the ride and all the kids got even more scared. You would have to have been there, you guys probably don't think it's that funny, but you would've if ya saw it! lol.

Okay, Kara...I'll let you know the next time I make the trip to MIA. I know my son will refuse to ride a "kiddie" ride (he wouldn't even ride Woodstock Express!), so you'll have to ride with me!

::shudder:: All Frog Hoppers should be destroyed ;)

I bet that none of you have had to run this attraction for 6 hours straight. It's a nightmarish, frightening thing. I'm still scarred by it. I can't look at the things anymore.

That said, I've never actually ridden the thing. I just couldn't.

And I know you can say the same thing for operating any kiddie for that long, much less a Frog Hopper. Especially if you're not fond of children.

Has anyone else noticed where the tongue on the frog is in relation to where kids sit? Just a thought...

LMFAO, Kara!

Our group rode the one at MichAdv during TimbersFest. It was quite a good time! I tried doing the arms/legs out thing at the top but OUCH, Mr. Happy didn't like that one bit! So I had to "pad the area" for the rest of the ride.

Those rides really give some cool airtime though, I am not ashamed to ride one. :)

Ive gone on with my younger sisters. It isn't so great but is actually pretty enjoyable for a "kiddy" ride.
