Summer Coaster trip help needed

The Legend and Raven are both great coasters. Although both only run one train you will get MANY rides on each. When we were there memorial day weekend we must have ridden the Legend 30 time and Raven at least 10. Although they are awsome coasters and I could ride them both all day without any other rides in the park, they have a basic flat ride selection. If your an ACE member you can get in for half price.
Actually since this is a family trip how about Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA. It's geared toward kids so they should have plenty for them to do all day and they have the Sky Princess as well CCI's first ever coaster. I was never there so I can't really tell you much more about it. It's only about 30-45 minutes from Hresheypark so it could be a stop on the way to Sesame Place.
If I had to pick 3 must do parks in PA my 3 would include : Knoebels, Kennywood, and Hersheypark. They all have some of the best scenery around.
Where are you going to start on your trip? I did a week long trip this past summer hitting Ohio Parks SFO, CP, Wyandot, PKI, Kennywood in that order. I live near Knoebels and it took about 5 hours to get to SFO. From PKI to Kennywood it was a long drive too. How long will your 7 year old hold out in the car between parks?

Personally, I think a great trip would be out to Six Flags Ohio. If that new flying dutchman comes along, you'll be in for a treat (although I'm not too hyped up about it.)
I recommend going on a weekday, preferrably Monday - Wednesday. Don't try going on a weekend, but if that's your last resort.... Weekends are the most crowded and you'll have to wait in longer lines, plus if you wanna go in the water park, be prepared to be squished.
You'll enjoy the Villain, a great wooden coaster that was built in 2000, Superman: Ultimate Escape which is another unique, great ride, Batman Knight Flight, a floorless coaster with great elements, Looney Tunes Boomtown, which is a great place for kids (if you have any) to play, a great water park (Hurricane Harbor), and if that Flying Dutchman comes along....
But, like I said, only on a weekday will the lines be shorter, and you'll probably enjoy your visit more.

Holiday World is SENSATIONAL, but is is a long drive, and you are going south.
You could hit Holiday W. and SF Kentucky Kingdom next year (they are only an hour and 15 min from each other)
DUTCH WONDERLAND was the other one I forgot and was kindly mentioned above
But, for the direction you are going this year, Penn. is the state you may want to be in.
You obviously have some decent options here, I still would look at the Penn. parks since they are not far, they are small, and very shady. and will have better prices especially on food... I'm sure you know how much it costs to feed a family of 4!
Plus, we really don't know how much gas will cost next summer. I can't handle $1.97 again!

I might have to go to an "in-between" park going from Cedar Point to Sesame Place. I might go to PKD if TA2K has a height requirement of 48". Can PKI be done in one full day? I plan on 2 days at CP. Make no mistake, this IS a coaster trip. I'm just trying to find parks that have a lot of coasters for my daughter. I shouldn't really do more than 3 rides by myself in any park as it will take up too much time. Do Kennywood's woodies comporare favorably to Holiday World's?
I have never been to holiday world but the woodies at kennywood at pretty darn good. Obviously the thunderbolt is a classic, consistenly ranked as one of the better coasters, though I think it is a little overrated. The racer is good ride with some good head choppers and an interesting single track, yet racing coaster. The jack rabbit has its infamous double dip which has to be the most extreme air time on any coaster. the rest of it isn't too shabby either. lots of great flat rides.
