Vortex at Carowinds

I was wondering... if Carowinds were to give the Vortex new trains such as the ones on Georgia Scorcher, Riddler's Revenge, and Mantis(obviously including new wheels), would this help make the ride smoother? The transitions on Vortex don't seem to be the problem. It seems that the train shakes back on forth on the ride causing the headbanging.

I think replacing the wheel assemblies might help. I noticed on both B&M Vortex coasters that the bottom wheels do not make solid contact like newer B&Ms. The side wheels did, though. Granted there was not much space, but watching the train travel from station to lift, none of the under wheels spun.

Ya thats what I wast hinking they could use totally new sheel assemblies especially if the bottom wheels aren't spinning, thats usually a problem.

Not all stand-ups are bad. I like Vortex but I think by adding new trains/wheels would make it a better ride IF the trains/wheels are the problem.

I think that the worst things about Vortex at PC are the restraints. New lower shoulder harnesses would help with the headbanging and ear pinching. As for the ride itself, everything up to the flat spin is decent. The flat spin is a bit too hard with those restraints. I am however starting to appreciate the Vortex more now than I used to, even though it is about 30 seconds long...

Shoot.... I just rode Vortex at PGA last week and it must be better than the one ar PC because it was the smoothest B&M I have EVER riden. It was so smooth and is now my favorite Stand Up coaster. It is the standup version of Batman!

It looks like PGA keeps their Vortex in better condition than the one at Carowinds.

Yea, atleast you guys have a Beemer and a good stand up rolled in one. PKI doesn't have a stand up anymore and I hated it to start with.
