even though this has probably been brought up before....

do you prefer a looper like kumba or a speed/airtime coaster like S: RoS??

ill take a speed/airtime coaster anyday. it gives a nice sense of freedom with little restraint and to me, they are overall better IMO.

I agree with the both of you, speed/airtime is the better of the 2.

I dont understand why designers have yet to incorporate both airtime and inversions into a roller coaster. Sure, some inverting coasters have airtime, but elements like a bunny hop or camel back are rarely seen on them.

I'll go for speed/airtime! I went to SFHolland yesterday and had multiple rides on Goliath, which has the one of a kind Stengel-dive. Some might consider this to be just an overbanked turn, but it surely feels like an inversion on this ultrasmooth speedcoaster.

Airtime. I find myself being less and less enamored with going upside down.

I love laterals, fan turns, over banked turns, and all those of the wall element like on Goliath at SFMM and Roar WEST.

I found that Talon delivers a good mix of both, and it's zero-g roll is the epitome of inversion + air. ;)

Speed and Air, no contest.

Apollo Andy, yes, Talon's inline twist is one of the sweetest around, but if you're a fan of that then I must recommend Kraken's zero-G roll. Still the biggest, out of your seat zero-G air that I've had the chance to experience.

Well heres my top 5 coasters

1. MF

2. Raging Bull

3. Magnum (need new lap bars and it could come really close to MF)

4. Raptor

5. SOB

Its not so much of air time that i like, its more of the speed, The bigger and faster, the better IMO.

MF has the height, speed, and airtime (i get a lot on that ride) to make it almost the perfect ride)

bigger is better

this is a tough decision, i like my loops and inversions intense, if they arent , its still good but not great. After taking a ride on S:ROS at SFNE and NITRO at SFGADV, airtime is my favorite of the two.
