Thunderbolt at SFNE question...

On Memorial Day Weekend I was at SFNE and rode the thunderbolt. I'm not sure which train it was, there was only one operating (I Think it was the blue one) anyway. I was in the front seat, and toward the end of the ride, the lapbar just flew up for no reason. When we left the station, it was properly locked and didn't budge. I was just curious to see if anyone else has had this happen. I didn't fall out, but it was still very scary!

I've never had this problem with the lapbar but once when I rode in The Thunuderbolt in the front seat, the seat in the car went forward leaving a gap between the place you put your back on and the part you sit on. It was also at the end of the ride. They need to get knew trains for that ride.

OMG.. That same thing happened to me at the bunnyhills at the end. The lapbar just flew open and scared the crap out of both me and my friend.

The orginal trains for Thunderbolt were taken out when Six Flags came in and replaced with crappy second hand trains. The originals had the lighting bolt going all the way down the side of the train and had the flashy Riverside logo and Thunderbolt at the front. Like I said, Six Flags has treated the original woodies of Riverside like crap. I wish Whalom was open so you could see what Thunderbolt is really like.

Actually Comet is my fav woodie! Thunderbolt is one of my fav woodies.But yes, Gwazi & Hurler ARE one of the better ones I've been on.
