X closed for a while?

Is X gonna be down for a few weeks or what? The official Magic Mountain websight has taken off all aknowledgement of the ride. Also, there is now a picture of Deja Vu on the main page instead of X. Does anyone know any further info about this?

If it is down, that really freakin sucks. I go to Magic Mountain about once or maybe twice a year, and I am going on Sunday. It seems like every time I go on a trip something goes wrong just before I go.......

I just checked the MM site out. You are right, that is awful strange. I know that X is having several problems. I also know that Arrow is in Ch. 11 right now. Are the problems finally being worked out?? Is X closing for several weeks? Will it even be open for Coaster Con (ACE)?? Just a few of the several questions that you will encounter beyond... THE WORLD OF THE 4TH DIIIIIMENSION!!!!!!!!! :-D

I heard it would be closed for the next three weeks. SFMM is losing so much money on the ride, and work all night repairing the trains which rip themselves apart each day.

X was open last thursday and Friday. And it seems like everytim eI hear a rumor about it being closed it's not true. But they have been only running one train. Seems like the second one is fairly constantly having some work done, and there isn't even a third train around right now.

But rumors of X's demise seem to be flying around with a lot of exaggeration behind them. Yes it's got a lot of problems, but it's also a brand new coaster and a new technology in coasters. It's going to have downtime- that's a very normal routine on any new coaster, and not a reason to panic. relax people.

One of the main problems with the X is, you have the possibility of a single point failure which could cause a catastrophic chain of events. Arrow has always built the safest ride in the industry. But the X seems to be a departure from the previous managements philosophy.

I personally think that SFMM is just being cautious so that guests don't come to SFMM expecting X to be open and having it closed. Right now, X is open on weekends only and sometimes on weekdays. SFMM has learned to stop promising things that they cannot have for sure!

Oh I really hope its not closed. I am making the trip from New York, in the second week of July. X is the main purpose of my trip which I have been planning for two years. I cancelled the trip last summer, because X was not done yet. This year I am going no matter what, but it would reay suck if X was not open.

I've stopped by the park a few evenings to ride X, and
each time is has not been operating.

I just called the MM guest relations, and the rep told me "It was open Monday and Tues, I think." She didn't seem too convinced that even if it opened in the morning, it would remain open very long.

She did state that it is not permanently closed, and had no explanation for it being (mainly) removed from the website. That is fairly odd, though... I agree with Matthew that they figure they shouldn't continue to hype it, only to have upset guests who expect to be able to ride it.

Thank god for those season pass preview days! I was able to enjoy 43 rides, and I'm starting to wonder if those are the only ones I'll get!

Oh, I read that really quickly and thought you said 45 hours. Well I still wouldnt be suprised if it was!

Yeah, that is probably true. I hope so anyway, at least then I would actually have a shot to ride it when I go on Sunday. Not a 100% shot, but still better than 0%.......
