LoCoSuMo Sightings?

I realize that I have 18 days until I reach IB, but has anyone seen or heard about this ride within the last week. I saw that a trip report from a week ago said that a full circuit was completed by a train, but does anyone have anymore to report. After seeing the cars for this strange beast, I'm a little excited over riding it.

There's nothing like a woodie...

I'm going this Saturday, I'll let everyone know what's going on once I return.
As of this past Sunday (6/2), it was being tested and looking very good!!!

Okay, let me update my last post...I just found a poster on another site who had more info...below is a quote from his post:

I was at IB today (6/6) with a freind, just got back, and figured you all would like the news I have now, so I'll just include a few notes instead of another full blown IB trip report. LoCoSuMo tested all day today, with very interesting results. The first issue, that I have not heard about so far, is that they just installed a basic net system over the ride vehicles to, I believe, contain the people inside of them. These were not, as far as I know, part of the original plan, but I believe the clearance issues may have caused this. Personally, I think the enclosed feeling on the cars may add to the theming, we'll find out soon enough. There was no roof on the station yet, and some minor trackwork was being done between runs. The state inspector was there, and I saw him actually riding the ride in the afternoon. It was just him in the two train car, and it didn't have enough weight to make it all of the way up the final hill to the tires that push it back into the station. Immediately, about 5-6 employees rushed over and pushed it far enough that it was driven into the station by the tire. The ride looks wild, and possibly a little rough, but not enough to detract from the ride experience. I heard talk (nothing definate, mind you) that it should easily be ready by saturday. An employee later in the day was speaking about the test rides, and mentioned that she heard the inspector had no problems with the ride.

I also heard at SRM from a couple of very reliable sources that IB was hoping to have it up and open this weekend. But after visiting there on Sunday, I'm not sure if they'll be able to make that or not. So many small things to do still. My uneducated guesstimate would be next weekend or somewhere around there.

We did get a nice close look at one of the trains sitting under Cornball though, and they look very comfy (nice soft padding). No sign of "tents" over the trains at that point though- either under Cornball or on the one sitting on the elevator that they were working on.

Sometimes it's up. Sometimes it's down.
But with God, life is one thrill ride that you'll never regret being on.

Don't rides have to test for like 100 hours first? I always thought it was a law. And if they have been testing it and it's never gotten stuck there, why did it? Weather could've played a part, but I don't know what the weather was like.

Planned parks: Astroland, Knoebel's, Hersheypark, SFNE, SFGadv,SFGam,CP,PKI,PKD,PCW,HW,Indiana Beach,SFWOA,SFKK,SFDL,SFSTL,Lakemont,DelGrosso's... Need I say more?

That is a little strange...if it won't run with 1 person in it how will they do test runs? I do know that alot of woodies run very slow at first until they're broken in a bit, so that could have played a major rule.

Also, how could they mistake the clearance needed? I don't get how they could do that. It's very simple to figure out how much room you need and measure the room you have.

I noticed on a pic of Silverstar that B&M has a radius around each seat on each side to how high arms can go and how far to the side arms can go. I imagine they leave in quite a bit of safe space just in case anyway. I'll try to find the pic and post it here.

Coasters are first tested with sand bags, bags of grain, or water dummies to provide weight before humans ride.
