I hate water rides at parks, never ride 'em.
I also hate going from ride park to water park and back again. I'll either spend all day in the water park (rare) or all day in the ride park.

I love waterparks and consider parks without them to be incomplete and lacking.
Furthermore, I consider parks with 'extra fee' waterparks insulting.
If I absolutely had to choose between CP and MA, I'd have to pick MA because waterparks are that important. DP is just about perfect IMHO for good coasters and water action.

Go AVS!!! AVS will repeat!!!
I definitely like having both. At my homepark Paramount's Carowinds, I LOVE having the waterpark there when it's hot. The 2 tall slides on Pipeline Peak are pretty intense, many of the other slides are fun, and it's nice to have the option to cool off without standing in a huge line for one of the water rides over in the "ride park".
I felt SFoG was somewhat lacking by not having a waterpark - it has great coasters, and you can cool off on the standard water rides, but it felt somewhat "incomplete" not having an actual waterpark.
I'd go to a theme park before a waterpark, but I'd much rather have a theme park WITH a waterpark.
