An idea for your desktop... Check out mine!

I added Cedar Point's three webcameras onto my desktop as active items. The three cameras will update every minute my computer is idle. Check out this pic: My Desktop.

I have two quesions:

1. How did you get a picture of your background?

2. How did you add active Icons?!?

Anyway, those are really cool. I wish Gadv had web cams!

I have two answers:

1. Several Photo editing programs have a "Screen Capture"mode. It's essentialy a screen shot.

2. On the Cedar Point website, find the appropriate webcam and right click the image. Highlight and click "Set As Desktop Item". The rest of the setup requires resizing the desktop picture and adjusting the syncronization timer.

just hit Print Screen on your keyboard, then go into MS Paint or another image program and goto EditPaste.

To capture just the active window hit ALT + Print Screen at the same time.

I'm having a problem with the webcam. The cam only updates when I click refresh which in result messes up my background. Plus Windows(XP) keeps asking me questions about ActiveX?!? Anyone know what's going on and how to fix it?

Cool idea, but I have to ask...what happens when its nighttime and all the cameras feature nothing but blurry blobs of light? Just intrested, since I'm more of a night person and would like to try your idea.
