When You Aren't At the Parks........

When I'm not able to ride coasters, I find myself missing the experience even when I drive to work in the morning. How many of you have accelerated your car over larger hills in the road just to feel some airtime as you go over the top? ;)

All the time! I don't know where you live, but if it's Ohio, try state Route 514 in Holmes County. Whee!!! You get no break from the steep hills and turns for miles and miles... and there's hardly any signs. Plus you have to watch out for Amish buggies going 5 mph.

My favorite part is the huge hill that turns at the top, with no warning, and no sign, and no possible way to know until you're in the air over the other lane. Heh.

im always accelerating over the large hills. here in latham, ny theres a great hill near river road that i almost always have to go down. its more fun at night, and since cops rarely patrol that area your free to accelerate as much as you'd like :)

While driving through PA on Route 22 yesterday morning on my way to Lakemont from Kennywood we were getting tons of airtime. There are some pretty big hills on that road. But that road didn't compare to the airtime of PR!

On the way to my grandparents house out in the nothing, there are some great airtime hills (I sound so desperate) but there are some houses over the hills that you have to watch out for (lol not the house but the cars pulling out of the houses).

Unfortunately living in Florida as I do there aren't a lot of roads with hills (and not many hills period). But one road I take in the mornings was built partially over some river canals, so they are humped up to allow boats to pass through. Pretty decent air on a couple of those if you can hit them at 45 mph or so. ;)

When I go home at night I don't slow down on the exit ramp from the expressway. The exit has a nice bunny hill, then a tight banked curve to the left. At about 40mph in my CRV I get airtime and some nice lateral g's too. :) I have to be careful when someone's riding with me, it usually freaks people out...

Dude! Come down near Zanesville, OH and drive 60mph (or try) on Route 83! Wicked curves and amazing air! (compared to other roads, of course, against coasters definatly no chance!)

I drive like a person who wants to live to see tomarrow. Though i occasionally go fast, its only on straight freeways and areas where I am able to see everything. I prefer to not die in my car.

I can't wait to drive, some of this stuff sounds fun.

There's a stoplight on the top of a hill in Sandusky (where Strub Road meets Bogart Road, to be precise). The hill is rather steep, so if you go through the intersection at about 40 mph, you ramp it and actually get some airtime in your car...ah, the stupid things we used to do in high school...I'm not sure this thrill was related to my love of coasters at all, but rather, to my friends and my desire to be daring (and in the process, stupid). For the record, most of the time, we caught a red light anyway, so ramping was made impossible! :)
