The Flying Coaster

Does anyone know if there are any videos yet of the Flying Coaster? I hear it is open with mixed reviews. Just wondering if it is taking on real passengers or just still testing and I would love to hear how it compares to the current Stealth & X-Flight flying coasters.

It is taking passengers. I have never rode X-flight or Stealth, but I imagine they are better. I compare TFC to SLC, small, compact, and kinda rough. It's not worth waiting more than a hour for in my opinion. It can be rough on the shoulders, especially on the turns. But I can see these popping up all over the place.

Just by watching the POV video, the transitions into and out of the barrel rolls look really abrupt. Probably slams you around in your "seat" quite a bit. The lift finally makes sense. Very cool.

I will be at SFEG tomorrow for a few hours while my pregnant wife hits the outlet mall 1/2 hour south of the park...

I was there last night, and even my friends(the gp) thought it sucked. I think it is okay, but definitly not anything special. I hope SFEG's next coaster can top this one, and not be built to conserve space but be built to be a good ride. I wouldn't mind seeing them put Rainbow somewhere else in the park and completely take out the bumper cars. Then put in a station and go behind Twister II and build it there. It sure would be nice....

Ya, while it may be fun, TFC has been very unreliable. First of all, the manual for it states that the ride cannot be run in the rain. You heard right, even a little rain causes it to close, because it causes problems with the lift and the brakes. Also, it is constantly stopping at the brakes at the top of the lift for no apparent reason. While I do think that it is a fun ride, unless Zamperla can get the bugs worked out of it, I don't think that we'll be seeing many more of these. I mean, honestly, does it not rain over in Italy? :)

I noticed thursday night when it was rainging that it had closed, and this was after the hard rain had stopped. I don't think it opened for the rest of the night. I sure hope they can get all the bugs fixed. Either way I have been hearing horrible reviews of the ride. I think it may end up like Twister II with shorter lines and not getting the attention that the other rides do.

RubberDucky, There was even more problems with it this weekend...on Friday a sensor broke and it was down from mid-day Friday through today (I was in town for the weekend and tried hitting the ride both on Saturday and today -Monday)..What a bummer...my only trip to town and it was down... :(

That sucks, but at least you didn't miss MF or X or something. People are giving it bad reviews. SFEG has had a bad memorial day weekend with TFC being down, Sea Dragon being down, and to top it all of, a death. What a bad weekend for SF also.
