Flight Of Fear....

I was curious as to whether the Outer Li... err.. I mean, Flight of Fear at PKI is any smoother than the PKD version. I know that they both have the same layout but has there been any reworking of the track or rolling stock that would reduce banging? To be honest, I enjoy the roughness of the ride at PKD... Thanks in advance for any help!

I rode them both within two weeks of each other. They feel the same, right down to the near-stop at the mid-course.

Now, I wonder what Premier has in store for these rides for 2001...

Speaking of which, are the adjustments (for lack of a better term) going to be completed by the time Summer '01 rolls around? I plan on going to PKI next summer, and although whether FOF is operating or not won't really affect that, I'd still like to know.

Well, of the three versions of the 'spaghetti bowl' Premier coasters I have ridden (SFA, PKD, PKI), none of them is what I would consider "headache free". I think that JJ @ SFA is the least migrane inducing. Additionally, JJ has no stop on the midcourse (come to think of it, since they only run two trains, I dont think there is a midcourse. However, to answer your exact question, I agree with Jeff, the PKD & PKI versions are identical.

There was mention about the Flight of Fear rides being "different," what about the Mr. Freeze rides? Are they going to be changed as well? I will be hitting Texas next spring, I hope Premier can "fix" Mr. Freeze too.

I've ridden the same three as Jeremy, and I found the Flight of Fear at PKI to be the least headbanging, and Joker's Jinx to be the worst. Of course, the JJ was the first I rode, and PKI's FoF was the last, so I may have just figured out how to ride it by then ;)

Actually Greg, I also think it depends on where you sit. I usually ride JJ in the first seat and its okay. One day though, I rode in the first seat of the last car and it was pretty smooth (relatively speaking). It was such a good ride, that I got off and got right back on, this time in the second seat of the first car. This ride was horibile. My head got tossed all around. That is kinda leading me to believe the train are similar to the Arrow loopers, that is that any given car is better in the front seat than in the second seat.

Mr. Freeze is actually pretty smooth. I have ridden it a few times and I did'nt experience any headbanging. I found the ride to be very intense though. One of my favorites.
