The food at SDC is top notch. IMO it is as good or better than Kennywood or Knobels and very fairly priced. Down by the craft area we bought a jerky assortment - turkey, buffalo, elk and others - very unusual and quite tasty. Also try one of their skillets - meat and vegetables mixed in a 5' skillet - not your standard fast food fare.

You are the passengers on a most uncommon elevator, about to ascend into your very own episode of the Twilight Zone........................One stormy night long ago five people stepped through the doors of an elevator and into a nightmare, that door is op

I've tooken my Camera to SDC and in fact they let me take photos on certain rides (Not Wildfire) and even shows (Inculding Silver Doller Saloon). The only Camera problem would be Wildfire which they don't allow those types of loose articles. Anyway I recomend you let the ops take your camera on Some of the water rides like Buzzsaw Falls and Lost River of the Ozarks the ride (The actual Lost River is a lil over 400 feet underground in Marvel Cave).
The Tue and Wed lines aren't bad at all Fri-Sun are the most crowded days to go to SDC. Also if you want to see the Silver Doller Saloon show I recomend you get in line 45-60 minutes before showtime, it does get crowded.
One last thing I recomend you guys buying a SDC mug Its about $6.00 filled up but you can refill it at alot of places including the Frozen Lemonade stands for only a $1.50. I always bring a mug with me so I can get deals on the Frozen Lemonade and the Rootbeer floats from the Silver Dollar Saloon show.

That's not roughness that intensity
Food prices were excellent compared to other parks last time I went. We were eating a full meal for around $6/person. Near the entrance of Thunderation they were making a dish that I can't recall the name of that was fantastic. It had all these veggies grilled in a huge wok-type thing. Huge helping of it for around $3.50 and it sits really well in you stomach for extended coaster riding.

Generic, isn't it?
The wonderful thing about those mugs is the fact that they are good forever, yes I said FOREVER. I got 2 mugs about 3 years ago and I still take them with me everytime I go. And that food close to Thunderation is SDC's own version of Succotash.I forget what they call it. Look in the giftshop by the entrance, you can get 2 recipe books that have that and other awesome recipes of things in the park. They make a WONDERFUL gift.
I wouldnt take my camera on wildfire.. WAAAAY to intense for it. But, pretty much everything else you can. BTW, when you ride Buzzsaw Falls, dont sit in the back row... you will thank me for it :) Definitely ride Wildfire in the back row.. talk about airtime... WOW!! Also, if you can stomach it, ride Thunderation backwards. Fire in the hole is still as amazing as it was when I was a small child... fun fun. Lost River is a definite soaker! The Wilderness Waterboggan line gets long, but its a fun unique ride you dont want to miss. Also, catch the steam train.. a nice relaxing stroll though the woods. When you ride, take notice at the strips of gravel in the woods between the ride ;) Something cool is coming there soon...hehehe

WCUSA-The World's largest theme park is coming!
Theme parks will NEVER be the same!
When Walter figures out what ride he is going to be building for that year...he makes sure people know about it. For example....when they were building Wild Fire, Walter made sure to put the track by the side of the road for everyone to see....he hired someone to make an animation, and had a company build a scale model of the ride.
He wants people to know what he will be doing, for this is one of the two of his parks, and he takes great pride in it.
And who knows, when you are there, he might be there with his family checking out the park. He is very one on one with his park employees and guests. So maybe you will be able to meet him....who knows!

I'm planning on going to SDC this summer, and I have a few questions.
1. How is their camera policy? Are they strict? Can you bring a camera on the ride (I use a neck strap w/ my camera)?
2. How are the lines on Tuesdays and Wednesdays?
3. How are food prices and is the food good?
I have been going to Branson for the past 15 years, so I can answer these! (SDC 13 years)
1. They rarely enforce camera rules, the only time you can not have on is on Wildfire, but they never really check!
2. Lines on Tues. and Wed.? I dont think there are any!
3. The food is pretty good price (cheaper than SIX FLAGS) and SO! much better. This is some of the best theme park food. I would recomend the funnel cake!.
4. The Tracks in branson are youu regular go-cart/ mini-golf complex, there are 5 in Branson. They now have 2 wooden tracks there. They also have a lot of free-fall thrill rides in Branson.
Write a review of the park when you get back!
And come back in '03, to visit the new park!

I went to SDC today, talk about a perfect day. There was not a cloud in the sky. But I noticed something fishy. To the west of the park, there are several paths that lead into the woods, these paths were not here last time I visited the park, do you smell a new ride for next year?
