Giovanola Terror Tilt Coaster

Did anyone read the article on Thrillride on how this coaster was intended to have a multiple track operation? The riders would be able to choose which track they wish to ride as they travel up the lift.

This coaster still seems to be bit extreme, and if one of these is constructed, IMO, would become the extreme coaster of all coasters in existence.

What's everyone else's opinion?

All's I gots to say is that the lines will be pretty short. Does anyone know what the angle of the tilt coaster's drop is?

When I read that, I was impressed. That is an excellent idea. 3 tracks for one coaster! Very nice. 98 degress is the angle that has been thrown around on various websites.

I don't think the lines would be short at all. Last time I checked, the more extreme the coaster, the *longer* I seem to be waiting in line. The real test will be getting one of these by an insurance company.

I am just a little skeptical about this whole survey for which track thing is gonna work. First, you have idiot riders. You have vandalism. Also, you might only get to ride one track every time if you get a bad survey result. You could split the line up into three, but that could be a capacity nightmare. Maybe only one track, but this coaster still looks awesome.

Anybody remember Horizons at Epcot? They had a similar idea...the riders voted to choose the ending, but it was only a video projection (if I remember correctly), not multiple tracks.

Waste? You're still riding a coaster. If one of these is ever actually built, the insurence premiums would be through the roof. Should be one **** of a ride, though.

Jeff, did you happen to watch the expressions of people at IAAPI that were watching the model in action? I saw great ranges, from what the ****?, to OH MY GOD!. They had some attention there.

The "choice of tracks" aspect sounds far fetched, but it could be done. Don't expect to see one of these installed until at least 2003. My guess is 2005 or later. Maybe a prototype, not in a park, might get built in 2003 or something.

The idea of being able to choose between tracks is certainly intriguing, but let's be realistic. This thing is going to be expensive. And if a park would build one with multiple track options, you can bet each one is going to be short.

What's the big deal? If it had two tracks in a layout similar to Dueling Dragons, I wouldn't mind either track. Then again if each track was vastly different, one with inversions, one without, a la hyper/giga. THEN I would mind!!!

Another thing, the 'tilt' doesn't have to be at 98 or 90 degrees. Zero will probably suit the insurance ppl! Though that will defeat the name of this ride.
