Couple questions about IAAPA (Mostly to Jeff)

How many people ask you for money when you walk from hotel to hotel. One fine young gentleman said he needed 75cents for the subway, so I gave him a subway token. He was a bit mad. He didn't bother me again.

I would venture a guess that they would want it in warm climates especially in November. AS it is snowing like a tap dancing Jesus here in Buffalo

Oh, sure... just go ahead and have your fun bashing us Pittsburgher's... but just yinz wait n'at!!

Gee, I wonder if the new convention center here will be big enough? Don't you guys think Pittsburgh is just slightly more desireable than Orlando??? ;)

Baltimore has a pretty big facility. The rides could be set up at Camden Yards, if you don't mind a little nip in the air, and the convention center itself is huge.


P.S. to Jeff: sorry about all the noise at REC.Rollercoaster. Some of us get a little carried away at times.

Baltimore would still be a little small, and lack the midway. It's still one of the bigger facilities I've seen, though.

Can you tell I work for a company that does trade shows?

The likelyhood of it being held in San Diego are slim. When they built the convention center sonebody screwed up on the loading dock doors. They're nowhere near tall enough. They are adding on to the center right now,but I don't know if they correcting this problem. IAAPA is not the only show to pass this venue by because of this problem.

Well I would think that the RCA Dome in Indy would be a sufficient venue. I went in the exhibit hall portion for IBE and the actual dome for a "Dream Team" b-ball game and both seemed huge.

As for Chi, I too thought McPlace was pretty large especially with the expansion. What about putting the rides in Soldier's Field. Then everybody could freeze their butts off when the 'HAWK' comes and gets 'em.

The last place I could fesibily imagine would be the Anaheim Convention Center. It seemed to be a bit smaller than the other two, but if one could demolish the strawberry field across the street, one could build a whole 'nother amusement park...umm on second thought, Where exactly is DCA again? (LOL)

they can have it at the pontiac silverdome next year.since the lions wont be there.

What about America's Center and the TWA Dome in StLouis? Not only that you could use the Savvis(Kiel)Center too which is near by. I just want this thing in the heartland.

What about the new facility coming to D.C. in two years. It will be over three blocks long and a block wide. be a little hard to find midway space, though.

A question for jeff. Can anybody go to the convention or do you have to be invited or some type of industry representative? I think it would be a very interesting show to attend if possible.

The Silverdome? HA! A little small. The only fesable possiblity to have the show in Michigan is to distribute rides throuought COBO, Ford Feild, and Comerica Park (since the two will be connected), and thats still unlikley considering that we don't have the best weather in MI during November.

Can this show fit in the Louisiana Superdome?

Bob O, you can attend as a visitor and pay the daily rate. Like $45. Steep, but there are rides, free games, loads of them, simulators, food, Pepsi and Coke, ice cream like Dip n Dots, and just a lots of stuff to do, like new fun houses, and such. Just remember, there is business being conducted. Can't interrupt Kinzel at the B&M booth while he is there with his maintenence director trying to secure a parts order for next spring. Everyone is friendly on the whole, as everything has to be loved by the public sooner or later.

They could have it in the middle of summer in the Silverdome's HUGE parking lot!

Folks... the people who organize the show are very smart people. There's a reason that there is such a limited number of sites that they use.
