Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew the angle of the second drop on Phantom's Revenge? I was just curious how steep it was. Thanks.

60 degrees? That seems a little steep to me for the mere fact that it goes through Thunderbolt. Magnum's drop (60 degrees) always seemed steeper than Steel Phantom's/PR's second drop.

I could care less about the actual stats. I just know it's one of the most unique drops and the best drop on a coaster that I've experienced.

228 ft is the old stat. They added a couple more feet last year to make it 232ft.

Tservo: interesting, because the cliff gives me the feeling of a sharper descent.....but they are the same. :)

Acorrding to Morgan, the old stats were 225 feet and they added five more feet to the drop making it a 230 foot drop, the speed is 82 mph according to them as well.

But then if you go to Kennywood.com, they say on one page its 232 feet and 85 mph, then if you go to the special PR page it says 288 feet and 82 mph. So pick a stat and run with it.

Coasterman Mike - who will stick with 232 feet and 85 mph

I'd stick with the actual builder then the park sites which are usually wrong. You'll find official banners from Kennywood that say "235' drop" and "85 mph."

Well, just using a combination of my mouse and keyboard (leave my mouse cursor right next to Pit Fall, scroll down) I discovered... Pit Fall is not 90 degrees! This means a protractor is useless, the image is not perfect, just like almost every photograph.

288 feet!? Thats a lot of drop. They must have added total drop footage or highest point to lowest point. Anyone know which it is?

OK, I've had it! I'll come clean. It's really only 36 feet. The magic of forced perspective creates the illusion of a much longer drop.
