Creative/uncreative coaster names.

I admire Cedar Fair's names mostly because they're commonly original with stories behind them. Paramount really get's annoying when they repeatively name all there coasters the same and give no since of class for those rides.

Vortex(ride has nothing to do with it)

Top Gun(enough already)

Scooby Doo Ghoster Coaster(name is not catching on everywhere)

Top Cat's Taxi Jam(give me a break)

Green Slime Mine Coaster

Mighty Canadian Minebuster(ever seem too long to you?)

Rebel Yell

Now what I do like about Paramount is how they fit the name into its own area, but they need some taste.

Paramount has fun with their names. They must realize that this is suppose to be "FUN". This isn't brain surgery.

Magnum XL 200 I think stands for Great - extra large - 200 feet. Alpengiest is my favorite name because it comes from "poltergiest" but since it has a ski theme its "alpen" instead so its Alpengiest.

I like the name Jaguar, but I wish it were on a bigger coaster.

Montezooma's Revenge is cool, I'm not sure how many parks would have come up with that one.

Ghostrider is good, it fits the Ghost Town motif pretty well, along with its good backstory.

Boomerang. Its Boomerang. Only an enthusiast would care that there are a million and a half boomerangs with the same name. ;)

Xcelerator: Its decent, but I would have prefered its working name, Grease, just because it gives a good impression of the theme.

Please don't get me started with Son Of Beast. What if Cedar Point would have called "Wicked Twister" "Raptors Uncle"? Or what if MF would have been called "Bride of Mantis" or even "Bride Of Magnum XL-200"?

Nasai, correct me if I'm wrong, but after leaving Expoland, there was this like public park or garden district with a small coaster called Bun Bun.

For creativity my vote goes to Great bear (with the whole big dipper tie in) and Montezooma's Revenge.

I like the name Raging Bull also. I also think Nitro is a pretty cool name...although it's be better on a launched coaster.

Another name I particularly like is Serial Thriller...though it is used alot I do think that is a pretty cool name.

Umm...GASM and JRS are both great names IMO (esp Judge), a lot more creative than most names (ie Wicked Twister).

Even before I knew about its theme, I thought Oblivion was a great name for a vertical drop coaster. I think that name at least comes very close to capturing the feeling of a vertical drop; there's absolutely nothing under you, only your restraint is holding you in the car, and you just feel like you are falling either into a near-bottomless pit or just clean off the face of the earth.
