I've always had good luck with the Motel 6 in Macedonia... it's about 20 minutes east of the park... and pretty cheap.

SFWoA has their own hotel and campground right down the road.

Well I stayed at the Six Flags Hotel when I went during Firghtfest and it was really good, the pool was really nice indoors and I loved the Shuttle service and pictures on the wall of SFWOA.

We always stay at the Baymont in Macedonia. It too is inexpensive, and they have a nice continental breakfast.

There's a Super 8 in Twinsburg that's not to pricey, too.

There's a slew of motels right when you get off the interstate, but there's not much when you get near the park.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.

I personally would try to get a room through "priceline.com". We did that last year with our trip to PKI and we got a room at the Baymont, 5 minutes from the park and only paid 28 dollars a night!!! It was great. You just have to know the area and the name of the little towns around the park and start your search with the fewest options and work your way up.

Ha, when I saw the title of this topic, my first thought was "far away." ;)

Seriously though, there isn't a whole lot right near the park. My suggestion is to go west to I-271 and from there north where you'll find many hotels. Go right out of the parking lot, turn right (north) on SR 91 two blocks and get on SR 422 west (much faster than SR 43 all the way to 271).

Thank you all for your replies. I guess I'm now trying to figure out which is better - Twinsburg or Streetsburo.

We stayed in Streetsboro last year. The drive to SFWoA was about 10 minutes. There were quite a few hotels there. We stayed at the Wingate Inn. It has a weight room, jacuzzi, heated pool, HBO, PPV video games, data port for laptops, etc. You must be 21 or over to book a room at the Wingate, but it was relatively inexpensive and very accomodating.

Twinsburg and Macedonia are BY FAR you two best bets for cities that are very close to the park. You can stay at either one of those cities and both are within 15 min. with traffic of SFWoA. I have heard many nice things about the SFWoA hotel...though it's not huge or some big resort by any means, it seems to be run very nice. But their are MANY good deals in Macedonia on a lot of hotels.
