OTSR's

I noticed especially on SLC's but more recently on Kraken, that the OTSR's have (I don't really know what to call it) a bunch of notches cut right at about ear height (for me). On B&M's it's not too much of a problem, but coming off an SLC, it feels like someone rubbed my ears with sandpaper for two minutes. What's the point of these notches?

Those are to allow the air to escape when your ear slams up against the pad. Keeps the ride from blowing out your eardrum.

I have found the grooves to be a great way to trap the sweat of the previous riders. SLCs have the smelliest OTSRs of any coasters I have been on. YUCHHHH!!

Also Mad Cobras have stank*****OTSR's. JJ smelled like the locker room. Good thing they're leaving. =)
