Outer Limits PKI and Outer Limits PKD

I have not ridden either of the coasters. Are they basically the same? Is the theming and the actual coaster course identical or are there differences?

I'm pretty sure they are identical.

Coasters- a little slice of heaven

Both coasters are the same in theme and track. I rode PKD OL 3 days after it opened and loved it. However be warned! All the posts you read about it being very rough and a headbanger are TRUE! The first rides back then I didn't feel pain (or at least not enough to remember). This year we rode at PKI and came off like we'd been in a demolition derby and lost...badly. From what I hear, the same is true of the PKD coaster as well now. With time most coasters tend to get a little rougher. It sure didn't take this one long. Ouch!

I rode both the PKI and PKD versions, and the Joker's Jinx at Six Flags America, this year.

Of the three, I seemed to get the smoothest ride out of the PKI installation, but that was also the last of the three so I may have just figured out how to ride it by then ;)

From what I understand, PKI and PKD are changing the name to just Flight of Fear and removing anything that says Outer Limits from the theming. The contract with Outer Limits did not get renewed so they have to remove everything with a reference to it.

They are identical, and as far as I'm concerned feel exactly the same.

I noticed when I was at PKI last weekend that the sign just says "Flight of Fear" now. I figured the "Outer Limits" license had been removed for some reason.

My ears were killing me when I came off the one at PKI. It's a neat concept, but I would never ride it again.

Now, the Aerosmith coaster at MGM is similar and pain free.

Yeah, I'd recommend the Rock n RollerCoaster at Disney-MGM over FOF. It's not really more thrilling (except the first 20 seconds), but the addition of the pounding soundtrack in your headrest puts it in another league.

I believe everything is identical on the two queue's, video they played, and themeing (although I think one of them is missing the nipple over doorway to the spaceship).

Anyone notice the spaceship is only half. They have a mirror to simulate an entire ship.

Naah, it's not really a mirror. That's just an optical illusion. Really, it's just as you would expect: as with any good flying saucer, it is simply much larger on the inside than it is on the outside! :)
Indeed, the evidence at Kings Island last weekend is that the ride is now "_____ ______: Flight of Fear".
