SFMW the clone park!!!

Has anybody ever noticed that every coaster at ths park s a clone or almost a clone. They have a boomerang an SLC two kiddie coasters which have been cloned roar(almost exactly the same as SFA) Medusa(very similar to SFgadv) and lastly V2 which was another exact clone, but the changes may make it not.

Im just bringing this up because I think its kind of sad how six flags has no origionality.

I say who cares. Rides are rides. I'd give almost anything to go out to California for Medusa and V2 alone.

I doubt the majority of the GP knows. Do you really think they know there is Roar, a same style of coaster, at SFA? Doubt it. Most of them probably don't even know there is a SFA.

Clones are good for one main thing. Give people around the world a chance to ride a ride they normally couldn't ride.

The Medusa's are very, very different. The Roar's are more different than you would think. V2, as you said, will soon not be a clone. And even with all 3 of those rides, even if they were clones, they are all high quality rides, so who cares?

I really don't see what the big deal is.

Not that I care, but I found both Roars to be exactly the same. Except for the fact that the end of the ride doesn't go over the beginning of the ride. Otherwise, I had the track at SFA completely memorized before I went on it.

The layouts may be the same shape, but straight from Mr. Boodley's mouth, all of Roar East was rethought out and reprofiled to make Roar West a more agressive ride.

Lots of coasters at SFGAm are clones or have been cloned (Iron Wolf, B:TR, V2, Deja Vu, Viper, Whizzer, Demon, Shockwave, and Goliath/Titan are similar to Raging Bull) and most atendees enjoy the park.

While I have to admit that I often think, "Oh no, another boomerang or SLC," the fact that there is one other coaster with the same layout 3000 miles away doesn't bother me at all.
Viper is not a clone. Shockwave is not a clone, and I wouldn't say RB is really similar to Goliath or Titan. I'm not positve, but I don't think Whizzer or Iron Wolf are clones either, although I could be wrong.

I was thinking the same thing Raven guy, I guess Viper "Could" be considered a clone of Coney Island Cyclone, but its a mirror Image and it has it's own personality and design to it. It is based on the CIC but is not a clone of it. Also Raging Bull is not even close to a clone. While Goliath, Titan, and RB are all hyper twisters Raging Bull is completely and totally different from the other two. They are even made by different companies. Also is B:TR a clone? It was the original, the rest of the batmans are clones. Iron Wolf has not had any clones made of it if I am not mistaken it has its own unique layout and is the first B & M. Shockwave is quite different from GASM, and Viper. Whizzer is the only one of its kind anymore. Which leave Demon, V2, and Deja Vu as being clones/cloned. There are only two demons and Two V2's (V2 and S:UE we dont count the one at MW anymore.) I always sing the praises of SFGAM its quality is right up to CP and that is no lie. Great rides, great atmosphere, great employees and very clean. I love it.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

Just for the record, he did say "are clones or have been cloned" so B:TR should be on his list.

As for Viper...there are a ton of differences with it and the original, but the most obvious is the double down coming out of the second turn around, i do believe....

Agreed ravenguy that double down provides some amazing air, I left "The family jewells" on that ride the last time I rode it.

The only difference between GASM and Shockwave is that GASM is five feet higher. As for Iron Wolf, I may be wrong, but I always thought one of the Paramount parks housed a clone (mirrored perhaps?) Whizzer was also cloned, but the other one (PGA) is defunct.

That's is very true. It seems that many people assume that because both Medusa coasters in the United States are floor-less and have the same paint scheme and name, they must be the same. They are NOT. Their layouts are completely different. Medusa West if resembling any coaster at all, it would be Kraken at SeaWorld Adventure Park in Florida. This is almost just as bad as people saying Viper at SFMM is the same as GASM and ShockWave at SFNJ and SFGAm, which it is not.

Wrong. GASM at SFNJ was based on SFGAm's ShockWave. In no way are those two similar to SFMM's Viper. You sort of got it backwards. GASM & ShockWave share the same track layout while Viper at Magic Mountain does not. GASM and ShockWave are only three feet different in the height category and 3 mph different in speed. The same with their track length, barely a difference.

...and the layouts are different. Its slight, but they definately aren't clones.

The Layouts are different as for Iron Wolf, it has not been cloned, Vortex might be kinda the same but not close really.

This isn't the only park that is like that. SFEG has a boomerang, a SLC, a Shuttle Loop, Twister II(close to original Twister and Twister at Knoebles) and a kiddie coaster which I bet has been cloned.

While I am not a hugh fan of clones, every ride is different. SF has no originality, but they got money. As much as you may not want to believe it, the amusement industry is a profit making business, and why spend more for a ride that will bring in the same amount of guests. Clones are cheaper. The GP does love them, so it works. While it may seem sad to you, a enthusiast, it is almost pure money for a business man.

GASM is a clone of Shockwave. Very minor difference can be found, such as speed (I doubt it's really 3mph, probably just the weather the day it was measured had it run faster than when Shockwave was measured) and height. It's the same elements, in the same order.

Station-drop/turn-lift-swoop drop-loop-turn-loop-loop-worst tranisition ever-midcourse-curve drop-boomerang-turn-cork-cork-turn-turn-brakes. Both Shockwave and GASM follow that.

If you don't consider GASM a clone of Shockwave, I guess I could argue that all B:TR clones are not really B:TR clones of SFGAm's. SFGAm's is 100 feet, the others are 105 feet.
