Well, it is a safety issue. Maybe YOUR camera will not fly off, but you never know about John Q. Gwazi-rider.
Charging for the lockers is another issue. The "cubbies" at SFMW, PGA, many other smaller parks that are always available work fine. I have never had anything stolen.
In 1998 when Riddler's Revenge opened, they had the perfect solution. On a 3 train operation, there were 3 sets of closet doors in the station. As one train loaded, one of the sets of closet doors were opened by an operator, allowing cameras, purses, sippers etc. to be placed inside. The other two remained closed, as those 2 trains are somewhere on the circut. As each train arrived, the appropriate set of doors were opened. ***Presto!*** I guess this proved to be too labor intensive and zero ROI. Now they have the locker rental thing, sounds like the one you described at BGT, BOOOOO!!
