Intamin Has Done It Yet AGAIN!

An Intamin hyper is impressive as it is, but creating one inside a mall AND going through the middle of a new type of ferris wheel- pure genius. First Holland, now Japan...I hope we see more Intamin hypers in the United States soon. Oh yeah, one more thing to say:

That new Ferris Wheel design is great!

Wow. It's another biggie at 230 feet. Can't wait to see what this one will look like when it's done.

Actually... from the article, the coaster goes on the outside of the mall on top of it and drops down on the side of it.

What's more impressive than the Intamin coaster is the ferris wheel.

It seems like a really innovative design, and I'd like to see some sort of design to be brought to the states... only 2 questions that really pop into my mind:

1) Who is the manufacture of the ferris wheel?

2) Is this just a gimmick so a coaster can purposely fit through the center, or is it really a new & technologically advanced ferris wheel that'll set the standard for more to come??

I personally think not having a center in the ferris wheel is somewhat meant for small parks like this one that does not have much space, so that rides can take up less space and give other bigger rides more space to be designed for. Personally, I can't wait to see a coaster go through a vertical loop in the top of the ferris wheel :)

It's all space related. I've been to Korakuen park, and they have ZERO space. They are more landlocked than perhaps any park in the world, being in downtown Tokyo. It is because of this that Intamin created the first impulse coaster, Linear Gale, to fit a small narrow strip of land they had available.

I think the Linear Gale was designed like that because the space was previously occupied by a Togo UltraTwister, which was just as narrow and likely just as long.

Exactly, that small strip of land used to be home to an Ultra twister. As for the original section of the park, it has no room at all left. The only way they could put something in is to remove something else.
