plannng a sfmm trip and I need some help

I am planning on going to sfmm in a couple of months and have quite the problem on my hands. I have no problem flying into l.a. itself my problem is I can't rent a car to get out to valencia from the airport and back again to the airport I am fresh out of ideas to get from the airport to valencia econmicaly. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Take a cab or some other sort of public transportation like the bus.
I dont believe that there are any busses that go out to SFMM. Your only option would be a taxi. See about flying into Burbank, rather than LAX. You'll save yourself quite a distance from airport to SFMM.

You won't like this idea, but here it is anyway: wait until you're old enough to rent a car, or travel with someone who is old enough to rent a car. I'm pretty sure the park will still be there in a few years, and they'll probably have even more to ride.

You're looking at about $70 one way for a cab from Valencia to LAX. There is supposed to be some sort of bus/train combo you can take out to Valencia, but I found it too complicated for the cost involved ($35 one way).

Good luck.

I agree with Mamoosh, the park will still be there in a few years and it may be even better than it is today.

R-Ducky: It would almost HAVE to be better...I'd hate to think how it would be if it was WORSE! LOL!
There are Amtrak stations all over the area and I know that there is one near Burbank. Plus, you can combine bus + rail. Check out the Amtrak web site for info. Good Luck!

Voldemort - Are you just going to SFMM?? If you are, then fly into Burbank, and take Primetime Shuttle services. The phone number is 800.473.3743. It's actually pretty cheap going to and from the airport on one of their shuttles. I did that just last week when I was in town for Solace and X. Now, if you want to get down to Knott's and the Disney area, your best bet is to wait until your older so you can rent a car. I had a hell of a time after my ride from Knott's to SFMM cancelled on me, without any notice. Things turned out because there were abunch of enthusiasts going to SFMM, but I wouldve been screwed if I didnt find a ride.

Hope this helps.

Corey - great meeting you at Solace, even tho we didn't get to talk much. Glad you were able to make it up to the Mountain.

During weekdays you could take Metrorail to Santa Clarita (sp) and get a bus from there. I made the trip to SFMM this weekend and yes I rented a car, it was about 40 miles from the Alamo lot. I looked at the rail option but it was unworkable on the weekend. For directions and a route planner go to metrolinktrains.com or mta.net for a trip planner. My trip involved Amtrak to and from California, SWA, Airport Shuttles, a Rental Car, light Rail, Subway and Buses in California. And a Taxi in Indianapolis. The only thing I left out of this trip was a boat!!

Whats life if you never get to the Po!nt?

Mamoosh same to you! Definitely looking forward to seeing you at another event! SRM perhaps?? I was so happy that I got out to SFMM like I had planned. X was totally worth the trip! I'm thinking about coming back out for the Con, but I'm not sure since I'm now going on the ACE europe trip for the full 2 weeks.

Take it easy and enjoy that stupid warm weather your having!

I am just going to sfmm and back to the airport. I am going to fly into burbank and take rOLLocOASt's advice and use the shuttle service. I had pretty good luck with similar company in orlando a couple years ago. I am probably going to be there for a night and stay at the hiltongarden inn then fly home the next day. Thanks for the help.
