Steel coaster 1950?

We have proficiency tests all this week(Im in 8th grade), so when I got done today Iw
as reading my coaster book(The American Roller Coaster by:Scott Rutherford)and he said
that Disney gave his idea idea to Arrow(for the Matterhorn)because he went to Germany
or somewhere and saw a bobsled thingy over there. But, it stated in there that he saw a
wild mouse made out of "steel". Now I thought the Matterhorn was made out of steel.

Ima little confused here; if anybody else ahs the book it states this on pages 94&96. He
said make it as different as possible as a Wild Mouse. I dont think a wood coaster can do
this hairpin turns.

Can anybody help me out on which was built first?

-------------
At least I dont call a vertical loop a "loopdie-loop"!

Wild mice have been built out of wood or steel before Matterhorn. Matterhorn was the first tubular steel coaster. There's your difference. You might want to check out this book about Arrow: Roller Coasters, Flumes and Flying Saucers
