The Bat's track actually did have some banking, a whopping 15 degrees! :) Another problem caused by the banking was the shocks on the trains. Legend has it that maintenance had to replace the swing shocks daily. There was also a problem with the train design. With the second generation suspendeds, the brake fin is between the wheel assemblies above the tubs. On the Bat, it was on the bottom of the tubs. When the train was stopped there was a lot of stress put on the tub supports causing more problems.
