WW/EV, near Seattle, is getting one, among other things. Anyone know what type of ride this is?*** This post was edited by Robocoaster on 2/22/2002. ***

The announcement was made today. And yes, the a Zamperla Sky Chaser is part of that expansion. Unfortunately, Zamperla's website doesn't even mention the ride, so I only can give you the park's description: "wild, sky-high kites that swing riders in a facedown flying experience." They're calling it "The Hang Glider" if that helps you to picture it at all. :-)

Sounds like a very high off the ground (like a HUSS Condor) Kite Flyer to me... lata, jeremy --who just finished talking to a gorgeous woman with similar goals, who LOVES coasters and has a child under 54 inches...does life get any better? :)
Coasterdude, I appreciate the help. Can't seem to locate the announcement, where might I find it?
If it is like what you are describing I rode one at our carnival last year! It was fun! (You can lay facing down or up)
If it's what I think it is you lay on your stomach and there are three people across and the car looks kind of like a hang-glider. You go up and down and around in circles. It's a really fun flat ride -----------------
If you're into coaster history (not like me ;)) but at least moderately interested, Adam's site is amazing! He's a frequent poster on URC...and look out for these Zamperla rides, great flats, lots of intensity.... ----------------- Florida needs an Intamin and/or CCI soon...PLEASE! Son of Drop Zone - PKI CoasterCamp I Champions!!!
I think BGW has one. It was brown I remember that. I dont remember the name casue it was last year in July when I went.
------------- At least I dont call a vertical loop a "loopdie-loop"!
It turns out the "world's first" used to describe the Hang Glider refers to it being the first one of it's type installed in a park. I have ridden one of these before (if it's what I think it is). Has the same ride pattern as a paratrooper. In fact, perhaps the park refurbished the existing paratrooper there.
Is there typically much difference between a ride's portable model and one installed in a park?
