Real Oldest coaster?

Ive heard that the Jack Rabbit(Idora and Clementon(sp)) and Ive also heard that Rutchesbenen(no one can spell that;)) at Tivoli Gardens is the oldest.

What is the oldest?

Leap the Dips at Lakemont Park is. Built in 1902. The one at Tivoli is from 1914. Idora's Jack Rabbit is also 1914, and Clementon's is 1919.

SFA's Wild One 1917 originaly located @ Paragon park and relocated to it's present location in 1986.Also Zippin Pippin 1915 @ Libertyland in Memphis Tenn.

While Leap the Dips is the oldest coaster currently operating, it is not the oldest coaster in "continuous operation."  Leap the Dips was shut down for a number of years prior to its beautiful rebuilding.

I'm not sure which coaster holds the record for continuous operation.

Anyone else going to ride Leap The Dips for her 100th birthday? Looks pretty good for her age :)

Zippin Pippin was "Elvis's coaster", wasn't it?  Not that I'm a huge Elvis fan, but you have to recognize his influence on our culture.  The reason I'm thinking about it is the Idora coaster is gone (RIP), and LtD as noted,  has not operated continuously.  That, I guess, would leave ZP as the "oldest continuous operating U.S. coaster", no?  I think I recall hearing about it being endangered not so long ago...time for us preservationists to take a step forward, I know I HATE seeing these old woodies leaving us every year...

Although its not too intense, Leap the Dips is one of my favorite coasters. I've ridden on it many times since its reopening. It's a wonderful experience riding a great classic. The Skyliner is also a very great ride at Lakemont.

Hey - you forgot Luna Park Melbourne's Scenic Railway, built 1912, world oldest continuously running (never closing for seasons etc, that is) coaster.

Actually, the Zippin Pippin is quite healthy and still very fun.  I just rode it in September and it rode great.  It is actually a great ride for its age.

I think Clementon has dibs for having the oldest coaster operating continuously in the same location.  I'm sure there are others that are older but they have either been moved or rebuilt after closing for a few years and then reopened.

No, I think that Leap-the-Dips has been there all its life.

Leap The Dips was their all it's life, but it did take a catnap for around 10 years.
