A few Disney questions.

1. Are all of Disneys parks built from scratch or have they ever aquired existing parks?

2. When they have rides installed are they all new or have they purchased used rides in the past?

3. Since the closing of DisneyQuest in Chicago, is the DQ in Orlando still going to remain open or are they going to eventually get out of the interactive park business all together?

They've all been built from scratch and all have gotten brand new attractions (I'm 90% sure). I think the DQ in Orlando is doing okay. It's part of the downtown disney thing, which is popular with both tourists and locals.

Chitown, all the D parks have been built from scratch, as have been all the rides.  Now, some attractions have been traded between parks, but even that hasn't happened much.  All I can easily think of is the Mickey Mouse "Orchestra" attraction that used to be at WDW which is now in Tokyo.

Parade floats are traded fairly regularaly.

Chicago's DisneyQuest was a prototype of sorts (it was designed to operate outside a disney controlled environment, the Orlando center is in no danger due to it's location). They wanted to test the market, to see how much viability there was in an "interactive center" such as this. When it didn't perform to expectations it was closed. There were several articles in the Chicago Tribune about it, if you want specifics on the DQ issue I suggest you start there.

DQ in Orlando will not close anytime soon. That location is always busy, and it's in a prime location.

Well, the DQ in Chicago seemed to be always busy.  I loved that place.  Pirates of the Caribean was awesome.

It always seemed busy because it was small, and because Chicago has a lot of people in it. You also must not have gone in the middle of the day on any weekday when the few guests there had free reign over all the attractions, without any waiting!
