Question about SFO's Villian

Okay, from what I've heard, Villian only has two trains. My question is, why does the coaster have a midcourse block brake? It's not used to trim the train (thank goodness) but that section of flat straight track detracts from the pacing a bit. Just wondering.

If I recall correctly; there isn't an actual brake on that section of track, is there?

Maybe it was just designed into the layout in case they wanted to go with three trains.

The ride was initially intended to have three trains, but when the third train went to The Boss instead, Villain's layout and footers had already been constructed. Therefore, instead of changing the whole layout, they just eliminated the brakes. I wouldn't be surprised if with age, if they installed a trim, or if they really wanted to installed a third train and added a block.
When you ride, look at the train storage area. You can tell it too was designed for three trains.

From what Ive heard, it was an effort to clone Ghostrider's terrifying entrance to it's second half. For those who have ridden it, it was several long seconds of anticipation/fear, as the following drop was where you would hear screams from when waiting to board the ride...

Don't expect to ever see trims on that section, and if so, very light/short. Most of that section is slowly unbanking from the turnaround.

Although it certainly is NOT a clone, Villain has most of the elements Ghostrider posseses, minus a few hills and a righteous helix. In my opinion, they shouldn't have attempted the impossible...
