Bobsled questions

Got a few questions about a bobsled coaster.

1:How does it sway back and forth?whats keeping it on track?

2:How does it go up the lift but then go down and start swaying freely back and forth?

3:What does its wheel assembly look like?

If anyboyd has any pics of the track and the car please show me.

1. The center of gravity causes free movement. It stays in 'the bowl' by design. The car/train is too heavy to 'pop out'.

2. It uses a chain lift mechanism, like a coaster.

3. It has 'runner' wheels, which bear the brunt of the weight. There are some side-guide wheels to stabilize the vehicle on certain models.

The originals worked a hell of a lot better than the ones today. The trains would cook on the wood surface when it heated up.

it works pretty much like a log flume with the troff.

So on the lift theres just like a track of metal for the guide wheels to rest on?

Just so you know, yes it's completely unnerving, especially on the Mack bobsled (Avalanche at PKD) which has a lot of give. Still, it's a heck of a lot of fun. Since I only rode Disaster Transport at CP once, I can't compare the Intamin bobsled too well.-------------
If you have to figure out how to ride a coaster to be comfortable, then that's not a coaster worth riding.
Disaster Transport's cars are totally different than PKD's Avalanche cars.On Avalanche you are seated 2 to a car in tandem and it sure can get unbearable if you've got a rather large person riding with you especially when you're sitting in the back and they are sitting in the front right on top of you.

The older ones (like Flying Turns) appeared to have fully rotational casters similar to an office chair. Has anyone seen Euclid's car on dispaly at the mall up there?

Model coasters and rides

I've been on the same two bobsleds as Intamin Fan, and also have one ride on DT...eerie!  Anyhow, I really liked AR and would like to get another bobsled or two in this summer...longer track lengths are appreciated!  Unfortunately, I don't see too many installations in the future...
