New waterpark in Ohio!

I think this topic goes here but whatever,

I live in Ravenna, Ohio which is 20miles away from SFWoA, and a waterpark named Holiday Sands closed down a couple years ago because of too many drownings. There were to many people in the water so it was crowded my mom told me. She also told me it was a great water park and it had water slides lazy rivers one of those trampoline thingies and a whold bunch more stuff.

The new owners are supposed to make it safer and add more stuff to the park. I think there going to open it this year or the following year. If anybody else has heard about this please give me more info.

Thanks

If we count the major parks, wouldn't that give Ohio like 9 waterparks?

Cincinnati Coney Island, Americana (If it opens), The Beach, PKI's Waterworks, Surf Cincinnati, Wyandot Lake, SFWOA and CP's Soak City?  Or are there more???

Hey, Shaggy, I didn't know Americana has a waterpark.  Where in the park is it and what's it called?  If it's just the swimming pool they have then I don't think it's a waterpark.  Of course the last time I was there was back in 1996 :).

I guess I should clarify the Americana thing.  Yes they do have a swimming pool, but last I heard the owner was discussing re-opening Lesordesville lake as a good 'ol swimming hole.  You won't catch me swimming in that murky carp infested water though ;-)

There is a waterpark called Dover Lake.  It's by a ski resort but I can't think of the name.

Dover Lake is at Brandywine Ski Hill.  There is also a park out in the East called Pioneer Waterland.  Pretty good mix of water rides and dry attractions.  At least it was nice ten years ago.  I don't know if it is still there.

Pioneer Waterland is thriving just fine. There was a park called Clay's Park in the same area. Thye had a lake, and some dry rides, with slides.

John,  I don't know how you figure Americana to be a waterpark in any way.   They have a pool and a Raftride of a flume but thats about it on the waterpark aspect :)
Chuck, who wouldn't consider Americana a waterpark

Sorry about the other reply,  I didn't see this one.   When I was a kid, Lesourdsville lake had a beach where the pool is now  :)    I herd a few plans from potential buyers of the park to make it a waterpark but as far a Couch,  All I have seen is him mentioning opening up fishing spots on the shore.
Chuck, who thinks it might not be bad to make a waterslide section in the biggest growning area of Ohio but just hoping that the park OPENS!

BGCPFAN,

Hey nice to know im not the only person in Ohio here.

And yes its in Ravenna like not even more than 2 miles away from me. Its off of Route 14 where it ends in that one intersection at the Army Surplus store and the Bp/McDonalds. Ill give you specific directions to it if you want.

Good point joey.  That is one of the most unique and enjoyable water park attractions I have ever been on.  And contrary to popular belief, Disney's Blizzard Beach wasn't the first waterpark with a ski lift.  Dover has one too, and I am guessing other waterparks/ski resorts do similar things.
