Building a Coaster

Has anyone ever tried to build a rollercoaster?  2 years ago i made a "coaster" thats track looked like a side friction coaster. I made a car out of wood planks and put some road wheels (no guide or upstops) on. I have a hill in my backyard and it started at the top and the track went to the bottom. I stopped it using strong bungee cords that were connected from the top of the track and then connected to the car, then it would stretch the bungee gradually slowing it down at the bottom. Right now it is dismantled but the track pieces are still in my backyard. Next spring I am going to double the length so it will start at the top of the Bigger hill in my backyard go down but instead of stopping go up another 20 foot hill, fall backwards and roll back and forth just like the Arrow Cliff hanger, until it stops at the bottom. I am going to paint the track red and the supports blue. It is going to be called S:ROW (superman ride of wood). Also at the top it is going to be "launched" out of the station with a motorized scooter on its side. Anyone else ever tried to do anything like this?

I made an ice sled in my backyard. So I guess I got back to the roots of coaster history. (and it's pretty funny when my dog went down the ice track :) )

FloridaCoasterRider, thanks for that link! I have never seen anyone do this. I always wondered what it would be like to have one in my backyard. This thing is unbelievable! I love how it follows the terrain.

Model coasters and rides

I know this is on a larger scale, but didn't the guy that owns and operates Stricker's Grove in Ohio basically design and build his own wood coaster?  I believe that it does have PTC trains.

That looks like something I want and need in my backyard. It looks as if he lives out in the country. Too bad I don't, my neighobors would have me take it down before I ever got to ride it. I want to take a ride on that coaster it looks kind of promising.

A small woodie would easily fit into my backyard. :)

 A wild mouse would fit in my back yard, I would love to try it but I failed math so I'm sure I wouldn't be able to build a successful one. 

Bigboy, he built two wooden coasters! One 50ft called Tornado and a 20ft called Teddy Bear. Tornado uses PTC and Teddy Bear uses junior PTCs. Coastergallery has some pics I think. Very impressive coasters. I emailed them about it. Over 3 years, Tornado cost something like $750k and I think Teddy Bear was $350k.
