Mantis- Restraint Buckles?

I was looking at a CP vacation guide and I saw that Mantis didn't have those buckles that buckle into your restraint. But I thought Mantis did have them. So, I looked at my on-ride photo and there they were. When were they added?  

They were added to all B&M stand ups in 2000.

Mantis had it's belts added in 1999...it shows in it's interval times of that year as well as the total number of people that went through the ride compared to the previous year.

Why did B&M add them for? (estra safty or was there a incadent with the harnest?)

Same thing with the Scorcher at SFOG, when it was built it didn't have them, the next year... there they were.

Sorry about that mistake. Mantis was the first to get them. Probably because of the close proximity to the accidents on the stand up in Cinncinati.

Riddler I know for a fact didnt get them until 2000 however.

The stand up accident involving the teenage boy occurred on Shockwave at Paramount's Kings Dominion in Virginia, not King Cobra at Kings Island in Ohio.

The reason for seat belts was for "safety concerns." Sometimes during the ride of a stand-up the restraint will actually pop out a few clicks. B&M decided that in order to make the guests feel safer they contacted parks to recommend that seat belts be added.

Ask anyone who rode Mantis it's first year and they will be able to tell stories about a restraint loosening.
