Who thinks this is a good idea?

I live near Chicago and I plan on visiting CP and SFO this summer. Has anybody ever bought a season pass at a park that isnt close to them? I say this because I want to purchase a SixFlags season pass and since I am going to SFO I figured I would buy there pass at $48.00 istead of buying a pass at SFGAm which is close to me at $87.50. I figure I would save almost $40.00 and can then visit SFGAm as much as I want. Would SFO issue me a pass if they see I live in Illinois?

I live in Pittsburgh, (3.14 hours from CP) and have purchased season passes for the past 3 years. It's definitly worth it if you plan on making more than 3 visits to the park. Additionally, if you plan on visiting any other of Cedar Fair's parks (being in Chicago, you are relatively close to Valleyfair, and World's/Ocean's of Fun) the season pass would work for those parks too!

Take time to plan out your trips to the different parks, do a cost analysis, and you may find that a season pass would be worth while.

I live in Chicago and have purchased season passes to Six Flags and Cedar Point for the last 3 years. Usually when we go to CP, we end up getting there in the afternoon and going to the park for the evening and then the whole next day. If we do that twice in a year, we have saved money. We usually go to CP about 3 times a year. I can't think of a reason CFO wouldn't sell you a pass...there aren't any proximity restrictions on them.

First call Six Flags Ohio and order your season pass(es) over the phone with a credit card by 3/31/00 to save $8. Once you convert your season pass voucher into a photo ID at your initial visit to SFO, you will be able to use it at other Six Flags parks.

I just ordered 5 SFO season passes for my Sister's family who lives in Sacremento, CA. They are visiting for three weeks in July. The SFO season ticket people said this was o.k. to do. Once they get their photo ID's at SFO they will be able to visit Marine World and Magic Mountain for the rest of the season. Even though the season pass prices at their "home" Six Flags parks are much higher.

Key point to what Jim said: Make sure you get the photo ID before trying to use the voucher at Six Flags Great America. It reads right on the voucher that you must have it processed first.

For all those wondering, April 10 seems to be the date SFO begins season pass processing.

I have I CP season pass. I got it for $85.00. But I know that they went up a little.

Andrew, I forgot how much the passes for my daughter and myself cost. Thanks for reminding me. Oh my parking pass was only $20 too. It was wise to buy during last season wasn't it:)
