RCT And Windows XP

I can not get the program to work in the Windows XP environment.

Anyone know of a patch or of one coming that can fix this problem?

Um, I'm running XP and it works fine for me... Make sure your RCT is updated to the latest version.

Also make sure that you go to the official website and download the windows 2000 patch.

Make sure you have the official Windows 200 Patch that will fix everyhting.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

but after the download i install it but it gave the error "Unable to update files

Unrecognised game version,wrong language,or game files are corrupted."

what i can do????

If you don't "have the installation files", then odds are you didn't buy the game.  Don't pirate.  That would be why the patch doesn't recognize your game -- it isn't legit.

If you DID buy the game, then you HAVE the "install files", on the CD.  (The CD you need to play the game, incidentally, unless you used a "NoCD" patch, in which case that's still the problem with the update -- it isn't legit as far as the patcher is concerned)

Either way, you need to install a legal version of the game.  Have fun.

I went to www.rollercoastertycoon.com to look for the Windows XP patch and it isn't anywhere that I can find.  Can anyone post a link or tell me where on the page it is.  I went to downloads on the webpage and I found nothing.  Its kind of frustrating because I have what I think is the latest version of all three cd's.  They all worked on Windows ME and not that I upgraded to Windows XP I get nothing but error messages.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

It's a very simple solution... no, really, it's simple! Wait! Just wait a minute! It's very simple! Goto www.rollercoastertycoon.com and download the latest patch for Loopy, thats the XP patch (and if it isn't, it will make it work with XP anyways. I've done it, I know first hand it works)

Lets hope that people never ask any XP compatiblitiy quesitons again.

Correct -- it's not EXPLICITY marked "For Windows XP", but the latest patch (which among other things addressed NT compatibility problems -- and XP *IS* the newest NT) will work.

Thank you!  I went to the roller coaster tycoon webpage, downloaded the latest patches and it worked great!!  I am happy and my wife is happy.  I do have one other request.  Can anyone recommend a good but easy to use trainer that will work on Windows XP??  I would really appreciate some tips on this.  Thanks in advance!!
