I was there too since I decided to skip work and head out for... "Perilous Friday". I got there at about 9:50. The crowds were extremely light. Maybe about 100 people at the front gate.
After I entered I headed straight to Perilous Plunge. I had to fight the urge to run, since I always get in trouble for that. I got to the queue line, and was surprised to see the waterfall still spilling over into the queue. I made a break for it and ran under the falls, which got me wet right from the start.
I braved the queue and headed right up to the loading area. There was one other person in front of me, we both selected the front row. Riders trickled in for about 5 minutes, and they waited since they wanted a full boat for the Television camera's. I ended up sitting next to Soggy. Then we were off. The lift took about 60 seconds. IT was extremely quiet, and the tension was great. After the lift was a great fake out where the boat acts like it's going to stall, then into the turnaround.
As we neared the edge of the drop, I realized how steep it was, wow! As the boat tilted over, we seemed to be going vertical, as tiny fleck os water pelted us from the waterfall, then drop! Splash! Wet! and I mean WET! I was soaked to the bone and I was wearing work clothes (since I had ditched). It was amazingly wet. After the bridge, the turnaround into the station went slow. On heading in, we saw one of the Intamin guys there, and I told him "Great Job" to which he responded with a wave. There was no one in the queue so they let us go again. This time Jack Falfas was there to see us off. Up, turn, drop, wet! But what a rush. After only two rides I was sufficently wet for 4 hours.
I headed off after the second trip, and watched the boats from the side. It truly is an amazing ride. I hope you all get a chance to ride it soon!
