Update on X?

What is happening with X?  I haven't seen any updates for a long time.  I know it is built but what is the problem?  Damn you Arrow!

Prototype or no prototype, Arrow made a promise(a really expensive one at that:)) so the ride should be open.  B&M would never have let this happen.  But hey Arrow is not B&M by any terms.  They are two separate roller coaster designers.  Well, I don't even see why I care,  I live on the East Coast;)

A brand spanking new type of coaster. Like Deja Vu.

Didn't you all hear? It kept stalling in low winds so they tore it down. Stupid TOGO. Wait, wrong coaster :)

Well Arrow sent new train parts to SFMM and testing has resumed on X. There was also some repairs done to the track, in the updated pics at westcoaster.net thers a pic of X with welders working on X, it looks as if the track was cut and welded back together. There is a rumor that people have been riding X during testing late at night. Far as I know only one of the trains had been rebuilt and the other two was being worked on last I heard, they should be finished or almost finished by now. Far as the train that has been running it sounds as if the problems have been worked out. So I guess will just have to wait and see if the problems are worked out and if they even decide to open X this year.........Hopefully they will announce the opening of X sometime at the end of this month or the begining of next month, all while surprising us about planns for next year lol just a little wishfull thinking (:O~)

Wir schrauben für Euch die Achterbahn zusammen!!!
I'm probably not the only one that is wondering this, but will this thing honestly be safe? Tracks and cars need to be fixed and rebuilt during testing, etc.

Yes it will be safe, this isn't the first time that a coaster needed some mods done to the track or trains.

It won't open unless it's safe.  The purpose of testing is to make sure it is safe for the public to ride and determine if any problems exist that need to be fixed.

SFMM has the worst luck with things.  I think its kind of funny how when S:TE tested for the first time, it went about 5 feet.  Now, we have X and its being delayed a bit longer than everyone expected.  I don't live around there but that must really suck having something you wanna ride but can't cuz the damn thing isn't working right.
What are you guys talking about off season? SFMM is open on all weekends and holidays right now. Unless I missed something!

This is true. But fortunately, there are 14 other rollercoasters in the park. And about an hour away, there is Ghostrider....nuff said.
Imagine had this ride been built at SFKK, now that would suck.
Oh but the troubles of an industry leading park...  ;)

What Magic Mountain Should have done was put X up and worried about opening it the year after like PGA did with Stealth.

I truely wonder what park insiders from around the country think of this.....

Your exactly right John. But that's the whole problem, the project was moved up a year because Arrow had stated that they were ready.
I remember when I first heard the rumors flying around the park(while I still worked there) that SFMM had signed on to bring the first 4D coaster to So-cal in 2002. I was shocked when they announced it as part of their 2001 linup, because from what I had heard, Arrow hadn't come close to testing one of these on the type of scale that SFMM obviously wanted. When I heard the word "prototype" in the same sentence as "200 feet", the first thing I thought of was PKI's Son Of Beast. Why they would annouce a project so large and give it the typical six month building window was beyond me.
Of course I figured the park and Arrow knew what they were doing, and I believe that "they" thought they did also.

Arrow and SFMM never set an opening date or year.  They just hoped and thought it would open up by now but that is wrong so SF has nothing against Arrow.
