i was just wondering if any of you guys ever visited "autoworld" in flint, michigan.  i first heard of this park in the documentary film "roger and me."  the film claims that this indoor park was only open for six months during the 80's but was the first park with an indoor ferris wheel??? do any of you guys know anything about this?

run a search for "autoworld." I remember 4 or 5 topics about that in the recent past.

Autoword wasn't much of an amusement park, per se. It was more like an auto science center with a couple amusement rides, including the indoor ferris wheel. I never took the time to go see it, even tho it was only an hour away.

And I tried a search. Searches now primarily pull up AutoWorld (a detroit area automotive magazine). I didn't take the time to really dig.

well here is the next big twist in the whole story.......i've searched for autoworld on google and brought up two or three stories on it.  two of those stories both called autoworld "six flags autoworld"  was this really a six flags park?  and a better question to ask is why would a corporation like six flags invest in such a loony idea.....i mean think about it.......an indoor......semi amusement park i guess you would say with theming based around the auto industry?????  i find this so strange.

Six Flags took over the mangement contract and tried to make a go of it. Problem was nobody in Flint was really interested in it.

Heck, nobody in the STATE was interested in it.  I believe there may have been a few school field trips.
