When will the next big coaster be built?

I was just thinking when Magnum was the tallest coaster in 1989 that was 11 years ago. Now correct me if I'm wrong but it was big deal to get a coaster over 200ft. Now when the MF opened this year it was a big deal being over 300ft. Thats an 11 year differnce. So if we follow trend we will probobaly see a few more coasters over 300ft in few more years. Just like after Magnum,came SP, Pepsi Big Max, and so on. But my question would be when we'll be seing coasters reaching 400ft? Although we have newer technolgy these days that would be pushing are current technoly to the limits. The other thing about a 400ft coaster is what park would actually have enough money for one?

It isn't the technology, but the limit of the human body. As far as I can see, coasters are getting better and not bigger. Exterminator, Shivering Timbers, Villain, and say B&M coasters. Coasters are getting bigger, but I would rather have better.

There will probably be another giga or so in the next 11 years, but not as much compared to the hypers though.Just cost tgo much for parks to make.

If a 400ft coaster is built within the next five years it'd have to be attached with a couple of sponsers. The trains would be decorated in advertisments more then a NASCAR racer

It wouldn't be testing human limits if it is designed correctly. It would depend on how long the lift hill was and how long the curveature of the bottom of the hill. The higher the hill=longer curve. It would be a question of space.

Not space, but there IS a limit. But money is the biggest limit, Jeff's right.

Thanks for the replys in my opinion I'll have to agree with everyone who says its the prices. I'm not exactly positvive about the human limits because there are a lot of things designers can do to counteract with high G's. And CraigTHCF I agree mostly about what you said but look at some of B&Ms hypers their awesome.

Well, S:TE is 415ft tall, but the cars don't usually reach anywhere near that high.

Like Craig TCF said; bigger isn't ALWAYS better now is it??
I mean, for me, two awesome examples would be Villain and Exterminatior. Both are in my Top 10 list. They weren't record setters, they are just downright fun.
Personally, I felt like MF was a let down. 300 feet is great, but the ride needs to be FUN. Magnum is FUN. I will admit to being in love with Magnum. But, other than that, bigger has never been better for me.

I think that the next "big Coaster should have LIMs instead of a first drop... lauch them @ 92 mph, then have them do a giga type course, ill take a launch or a big drop anyday
