What parks will survive?

What theme parks do you think will survive the the amusment world for at least the next 15 years? I think it would be the parks with the best rides, and that arre near big cities. Some parks that i think will survive are:

Cedar Point, SF great adventure, SF great america, SF Magic Mountain, Hershey Park, Dorney Park, Islands of adventure, and bothe Busch Gardens Parks.

I would say most of the sixflags parks all of the cedarfair parks aswell as most of the bushparks mainly bush gardens tampa and williamsburg and seasame place since its been there since i was a kid and is still there.also kennywood,Hoilidayworld,konobels(not sure how to speel it) and alot of family parks but there will be alot of dead end parks i wont say names i cant see around in a few years.I could also see sixflags purchasing the paramounts chain or cedarfair purchasing it.But those are just my predictions.

With Six Flags' neglect of some of the smaller SF parks, I would not be surprised if Six Flags tries to sell of some of the smaller parks that do not perform as well. I would also not be surprised that one or two of SF smaller parks will close soon.
Regional parks have been doing really well this year and will probably continue to do very well for the next year due to American's fears of flying and traveling long distances.
Disney parks are suffering along with Universal Studios parks, but many of the smaller, regional parks, such as Holiday World and mid sized Six Flags parks (that Six Flags Inc. does not neglect), are doing great with some parks even benefiting from the recent events.

I've been to only 3 parks but have rode alot of kinds like Wood, Hyper,Wild Mouse,Corkscrew,and Inverted
SFNE & Canobie Lake park RULES!!!!!

The smaller parks, Kennywood, Knoebels, and Holiday World will also survive.

I think all the parks today will stay open with proper management, unlike my former employer {cough, cough....Americana}.  The only parks that I see closing might be Visionland, Jazzland, and SFEG.  I don't think that there's enough of a population base to support those parks.

There is plenty of population to keep SFEG going. Mind Eraser still draws huge lines. I just hope Lakeside keeps chugging along.

Don't look down-Oblivion

I think that Conneaut Lake will turnaround and bounce back, Americana will repoen, and Coney Island Cincinatti will start turning back into a nice themepark. I also this that Coney Island NY has stood the test of time. Please don't bash me, but I honestly don't think Six Flags will be around in 15 years, at least not a large as it is now. Cedar Point will be landlocked ( hey, in 15 years it will happen) but they will find a solution. IB & HW have proven to be great longstanding parks. Someone will probably realize the potential of Lakeside Denver and either buy it or invest serious money into it. Morey's Piers will be probably one of the largest waterfront parks on the east coast. I'll add to this whn I think of more later.

Umm, Six Flags isn't going nowhere.  If you go to another country that has Six Flags, would'nt you check it out?  I mean it's "Six Flags" everyone knows that name.  They'll never dissipear.  Along with others....

Kennywood is my home park!!!

My home park is Valleyfair I was thinking on what Valleyfair will be like fifteen years from now. If we do get the new inverted from B&M (rumored for 2002) or possibly 2003 I think our park will stand out for more years to come also there has been a lot of talking among our fellow employee's here saying the heads from Cedar Fair will becoming to our park during the downtime season of this year looking at future landscaping possibly expanding the park past Thunder Canyon which there is about 100 acres of undevolpment flat land and they might add a few more coasters in that area and maybe some new flat rides, so watch for Valleyfair in the next few years there will be some changes coming.

It would be much easier to list the parks that wont survive....if any at all.  Much like the porn industry the amusement industry is fairly stable, (speaking in the long run).  Everyone needs it.

I just read in Amusement Business that the state of Mass. has listed Whalom Park as a endangered historic site. The park IS for sale. There are supposedly a few interested parties looking at it as an amusement park. There is also real estate developers who want to tear it down and build houses around the lake. Who ever comes up with the most cash will probably win. As we have seen before, having a historical designation doesn't assure survival.

PKI, just because that the managers are making excellent decisions about what to put in, not just for thrill seekers, but for the entire family, and also because PKI is turning out rides that are cutting edge, new, and exciting. They better survive longer, because im going to try to get a job in their design/R&D department.

I think that DCA won't survive to see 2016. I want a Disneysea Park in Aneheim, or a mgm studios. Anyway, in southern Cali, everything will survive most likely. The only 2 iffy parks are Legoland and DCA.

DCA will survive.
It may take lots of time and money, but Disney won't let it fail.
They won't admit they were wrong, and will just keep adding to the park until people quit complaining about it.
To let it fail or close would make Disney look bad, and the current management won't stand for that.
